Sony Alpha 7 V (ILCE-7M5) full-frame mirrorless camera with 33 MP, AI autofocus, and 4K 120p video. The Exmor RS sensor and BIONZ XR2 processor deliver blackout-free bursts of up to 30 fps, dynamic range reaches up to 16 stops, and 5-axis in-body stabilization compensates for up to 7.5 stops.

30 fps with no viewfinder blackout

The partially stacked Exmor RS sensor reads out approximately 4.5× faster, so the electronic shutter reaches 1/16000 s. The BIONZ XR2 processor with its AI processing unit recognises subjects approximately 30 % more reliably than the Alpha 7 IV.

A monitor that tilts on four axes

The 3.2" 2.1-million-dot touch monitor tilts 98° up and 40° down, swings 180° to the side and rotates 270°. Shooting information turns automatically to match the camera orientation.

Two USB-C ports and full-size HDMI

PORT 1 transfers 10 Gbps for fast backups and PC remote control, PORT 2 works as USB 2.0, and both support USB Power Delivery. Add a Type-A HDMI connector and 3.5 mm microphone and headphone jacks.

It captures what happened before you pressed

Pre-Capture records images up to one second before the shutter button is fully pressed. Bursts run at up to 30 fps with full AF/AE tracking and up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second.

Up to 16 stops of dynamic range

Smooth gradations from shadows to highlights and effective noise reduction across the whole ISO 100–51200 range for stills and video.

4K 60p from 7K and 4K 120p

Full-frame recording reads every pixel with no binning, and 4K 60p is oversampled from 7K. 4K 120p is recorded in Super 35 mode, in 10-bit 4:2:2.

Stabilisation up to 7.5 steps

5-axis in-body stabilisation compensates up to 7.5 steps in the centre and 6.5 at the edges of the frame (CIPA, with the FE 50 mm F1.2 GM lens).

Battery life and heat control

The NP-FZ100 battery lasts up to 630 shots with the viewfinder and 750 with the monitor (CIPA). A Σ-shaped graphite component draws heat from the sensor, so 4K 60p (4:2:0, 8-bit) records continuously for around 90 minutes.
