Sony VMC-SA1

The Sony VMC-SA1 Shoe Audio Extension Cable connects the camera's Multi Interface Shoe to a shoe-mount accessory such as a microphone, XLR adapter or wireless microphone receiver over a distance of 600 mm. This lets you mount the accessory elsewhere on a cage, handle or gimbal. The cable is compatible with Sony cameras with a Multi Interface Shoe that Sony includes in its compatibility list, such as the α7 IV, α6700, ZV-E10 II, ZV-1 II, RX10 V or FX3. Both ends of the cable have a shoe: one slides into the camera, and you fit a microphone or XLR adapter onto the other just as you would on the body.

Microphone on the handle or gimbal

With the camera in a cage or on a gimbal, you can move the microphone or wireless receiver to the top handle or frame, while the camera shoe stays connected through the cable.

The ECM-B10, ECM-M1, ECM-G1, ECM-B1M, ECM-GZ1M, ECM-XYST1M and ECM-S1 microphones, the ECM-W3 and ECM-W3S wireless microphones, the XLR-A4, XLR-K3M and XLR-K2M adapters and the UWP-D11 kit.

Compatible cameras

The α1, α9, α7 and α6000 series, ZV-E1, ZV-E10, ZV-1, RX10 II, III and V, RX1R II and III, the FX3, FX3A, FX2 and FX30 cameras, plus the α99 II and α68.

The Shoe Audio Extension Cable allows flexible mounting options. One end slides into the camera's Multi Interface Shoe, while the other carries its own shoe, onto which you fit the accessory just as you would directly on the camera.

The microphone or adapter no longer has to sit on the camera, where it can get in the way of the monitor, viewfinder or other accessories. The 600 mm cable lets you move it to a cage handle, top handle or gimbal frame.
