The Sony MDR-7506 are professional headphones designed to combine performance, comfort and practicality. They are used daily in broadcast and recording studios around the world. The MDR-7506 come with a carrying pouch and a gold-plated Unimatch plug with a 3.5 mm / 6.3 mm adaptor.
Closed-back headphones for studio and field
The 40 mm dynamic driver with a neodymium magnet and PET diaphragm plays from 10 Hz to 20 kHz. The closed ear cups keep the monitoring separate from the room, whether you record in the studio or on location.

Folds into the pouch
The ear cups fold inwards, so the headphones take up little space in a bag. A carrying pouch is included for storage.
Coiled cable and Unimatch plug
The coiled cable is approx. 1.2 m long and extends to about 3 m. The gold-plated 3.5 mm plug comes with a 6.3 mm adaptor, so the headphones connect to a camera, a recorder or a studio desk.
Headroom above the needs of digital sources
The PET diaphragm and neodymium magnet give the driver performance beyond the demands of digital recording. With 1,000 mW power handling it also copes with a strong studio amplifier.
63 Ω impedance
A sensitivity of 106 dB/mW means the headphones play loud even from the headphone output of a camera or a portable recorder.

Weight without the cable. The headphones are built to be worn for long stretches in broadcast, on set and in the edit.
Replaceable earpads
The earpads are a spare part — worn ones are swapped and the headphones stay in service.
40 mm dome driver
A dome-shaped diaphragm with a voice coil of copper-clad aluminium wire (CCAW).
This extremely high quality, unobtrusive, lightweight reference headphone has been engineered to be comfortable to wear for extended periods, making it ideal for use in broadcast and studio environments. A 40 mm PET diaphragm and neodymium magnet provide performance exceeding the requirements of digital audio sources.
