New products from Blackmagic Design!

At the NAB tradeshow, taking place this year from April 4 to 9, Blackmagic Design introduced a number of new products:

Blackmagic PYXIS 12K

The big news is the Blackmagic PYXIS 12K, a new digital film camera that incorporates a revolutionary 12K RGBW sensor in a compact and easy-to-rig PYXIS camera design. This new model uses the same sensor as the URSA Cine 12K LF - a sensor with a huge dynamic range of 16 feet. Plus, it has dual CFexpress media recorders, 10G Ethernet and Blackmagic Cloud global sync. The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K will be available in three models, with customers able to choose between L-Mount, PL or Locking EF mounts. Availability is expected for July this year.

Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Handle and Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Grip

These two new accessories allow you to turn Blackmagic PYXIS into a flexible camera for run and gun shooting, ideal for broadcast and documentary filming. The Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Handle includes an integrated HD OLED viewfinder, stereo microphone, start/stop recording buttons and custom function buttons. The Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Grip is a side handle for video production that includes a zoom rocker and hand strap for safe and comfortable shooting. Availability is expected for July this year.

DeckLink IP 100G

DeckLink IP 100G is a new PCIe Gen 4 card that enables simultaneous capture and playback of up to 8 channels of Ultra HD video to 2110 IP systems. The card also includes 2 x 100G Ethernet QSFP ports for redundancy, or connection to two separate 100G Ethernet switches. It also includes built-in cooling. The DeckLink IP 100G supports GPUDirect RDMA for direct memory transfer between the DeckLink and the GPU, reducing PCIe bandwidth when processing video on the GPU, resulting in significant latency reduction. Availability is expected for July this year.

ATEM Micro Camera Panel

Blackmagic also announced the ATEM Micro Camera Panel - a new portable camera control panel with high quality broadcast CCU (Camera Control Unit) controls for ATEM switchers. With a large joystick and physical buttons, the ATEM Micro Camera Panel allows you to control aperture, pedestal, shutter, white balance, master gain, RGB balance and more. All this for up to 8 cameras from one panel. The ATEM Micro Camera Panel also includes an internal battery and connects via Bluetooth or USB-C. Availability is expected for May.

ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is the ideal switcher for building a high quality broadcast studio with 8 HDMI inputs, built-instreaming engine, multi-view, Thunderbolt for recording and playback, USB webcam, DVE, chroma key, media player and ISO recording of all 8 video inputs! It has 3 independent video outputs that can be routed. Built-in Thunderbolt offers live video capture and playback, allowing the use of real-time effects software or DaVinci Resolve for replays of live events. The CFexpress card can also be accessed over a network using 10G Ethernet. For audio, it has a balanced XLR input, MADI input and a Fairlight status display with menu. There is also a headphone output for audio monitoring. You even have 200 frames of animation in the media pool . Availability is expected for July this year.

ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K Plus

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K Plus is the new Ultra HD model of the ATEM Constellation family with 80 inputs that support 12G-SDI standard converted inputs. The new larger 4K model offers the same powerful features as the ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K, but with the addition of 48 12G-SDI aux outputs, 16 ATEM Advanced Chroma Keys, 4 Ultra HD media players, 4 independent Ultra HD multiviewers, 2 SuperSource processors and more. This makes it an ideal choice for large events such as concerts and music festivals, as the huge number of inputs and DVEs allows for multi-layered compositions to cover the action during the event. Availability is expected for June.

Cintel Scanner G3 HDR+ 8/16

The Cintel Scanner G3 HDR+ 8/16 is specifically designed to support scanning of 8mm HD and 16mm Ultra HD films. The scanner has an all-new optical assembly that allows scanning at up to 2.5 times higher resolution for these smaller formats, making it ideal for scanning archived historical footage. This new model allows real-time scanning of films in HDR format.

Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8

Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is a new rack-mounted media backup solution that lets you use low-cost computer hard drives to quickly back up media files. Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 syncs with Blackmagic Cloud to back up collaborative projects in DaVinci Resolve. Additionally, it has a rack-mountable design with 8 independent hard drive slots, 4 x 10G Ethernet ports for maximum performance with high-capacity hard drives, and HDMI output for a monitor that displays storage status. It is ideal for archiving completed projects on low cost storage.

HyperDeck Shuttle 4K Pro

HyperDeck Shuttle 4K Pro is a new live media player and master recorder. The design incorporates ergonomic physical control buttons that allow you to browse large amounts of media and play clips. It also has a large, integrated 7-inch LCD touchscreen for monitoring and scopes. The HyperDeck Shuttle 4K Pro supports 12G-SDI and HDMI for recording to Apple ProRes, DNx, H.264 and H.265 in all video standards up to 2160p. With 10G Ethernet and internal M.2 storage, the HyperDeck Shuttle 4K Pro is more than just a HyperDeck - it's also network storage. That means it can share your media with editors and colorists.

Blackmagic 2110 IP UpDownCross 12G

The Blackmagic 2110 IP UpDownCross 12G is the standard converter for live production and broadcast. It allows you to convert between any devices with 2110 IP video, 12G-SDI and HDMI video connections. It offers the highest quality video conversion between all SD, HD and Ultra HD video standards. It has a sleek design with LCD display, speaker and headphone jack. The LCD display also includes a menu for setting the video standard. The USB port on the front panel even functions as an HD webcam. Availability is expected for June.

Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G and 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G-10

Blackmagic Design has introduced two new 2110 IP converter models that are designed to enable the use of the latest OLED TVs for accurate color monitoring, such as in color grading and editing suites. The Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G converts 2110 IP video or 12G-SDI video to HDMI in all SD, HD and Ultra HD video standards and includes XLR analog outputs for powered speakers for audio monitoring. Includes variable gain and delay for perfect AV synchronization and 3D LUTs for color calibration of displays. There are two versions of this converter: one has two channels of XLR analog audio output, while the other model has 10 XLR analog audio outputs for surround sound monitoring. Availability is expected for June.

Video Hub Mini 12G

The Blackmagic Videohub Mini 12G is a new range of compact Videohub 12G routers for customers working in confined spaces. Available in 3 models, the Blackmagic Videohub Mini 12G includes a ⅓ rack width model with 4x2 ports, a ½ rack width model with 6x2 ports, and a ⅔ rack width model with 8x4 ports. In addition to adding additional inputs for SDI broadcast devices, all models include 12G-SDI connections that work in all SD, HD and Ultra HD video standards, and a clean switch that is selected on the video outputs.

Blackmagic Streaming Decoder

Blackmagic Streaming Decoder is a new streaming processor that decodes live H.264 and H.265 streams from an encoder or camera and converts them to SDI or HDMI with talkback, tally and camera control. Blackmagic Streaming Encoder is a standalone hardware encoder for H.264 and H.265 for live streaming to YouTube, X, Facebook and more. If you need to create a broadcast streaming link, you can use the Blackmagic Streaming Decoder. This will receive and convert the H.264 or H.265 stream to SDI video.
