12G-SDI input with Teranex conversion

The 12G-SDI input handles all HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60, and the 12G-SDI loop output lets you loop through several encoders to stream to multiple services. Teranex conversion technology automatically converts HD or Ultra HD input to the chosen streaming standard, so you can run production at a higher quality than the stream.

Redundancy for reliable streaming

The encoder connects to the internet via Ethernet or a phone and automatically fails over to the backup in case of an outage. Two compact, inexpensive units can stream to both primary and secondary YouTube servers, and the AC and DC inputs allow backup battery power. It can be controlled from the front panel buttons and menus as well as with Blackmagic Streaming Utility.

Blackmagic Streaming Encoder 4K is a powerful streaming processor with H.264 and H.265 for streaming in HD or Ultra HD via SRT or RTMP to platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, X and more. It includes a USB webcam output, a standards converted 12G-SDI input and an output for stream monitoring. You can stream via Ethernet, via a phone with 5G or 4G mobile data, or via the new Blackmagic Cloud streaming features.

With the 12G-SDI input you can stream HD and Ultra HD content up to 2160p60. You also get a built-in downconverter, a USB-C webcam output and HDMI status monitoring. For broadcast links there is Blackmagic Streaming Decoder, which converts the H.264 or H.265 stream back to SDI or HDMI video, so video can be sent point-to-point between remote locations, including tally, talkback and camera control.

A powerful hardware encoder and clear software with a wide range of presets make it easy to connect to most streaming platforms without a computer running complicated streaming software. Everything is in a compact unit one third of a rack wide: connect an SDI source from the control room or a camera, connect to the internet via Ethernet or a smartphone, enter the stream key and press ON AIR.

The built-in hardware streaming engine delivers professional broadcast quality without dropouts or dropped frames. Blackmagic Streaming Utility for Mac and Windows connects via USB or remotely via Ethernet; presets stored as XML can be modified or extended with your own platforms. Two USB-C ports work as a webcam output in 720p, 1080p or 2160p, for example for Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Webex.
