Blackmagic Design Cloud Backup 8

The Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is a large dock with eight bays for 3.5″ SATA hard disks that backs up large media files to low cost computer disks over a 10G Ethernet network. Four 10G Ethernet ports, an HDMI output with the storage status and sync with Blackmagic Cloud make it an archive for film, television and multi camera recordings. Disks are not included.

The lowest cost per TB for finished projects

Hard disks offer the lowest cost per TB and are fast enough for archiving completed projects and multi camera recordings. Continuous backup through Blackmagic Cloud replaces manual archiving.

Every bay is independent

You can mount up to eight disks at the same time. Unplug a full disk and replace it with an empty one. A light ring around the bay shows reading in green and writing in red.

The built in switch with four 10G Ethernet ports keeps up with fast hard disks and multiple users at the same time.

Designed for film and television

Completed projects are archived quickly to low cost disks. The dock suits replay archives and a DIT cart as a second backup of camera files. Modern hard disks are fast enough to serve as primary storage too.

Rack mount design

Eight independent bays are available over the network at the same time. A security bar is included to lock the disks against removal. The HDMI output shows the live storage status.
