Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is a large 8-bay hard drive docking station that allows you to back up large media files to affordable computer hard drives over a 10G Ethernet network.

With Blackmagic Cloud support, files can be synced globally so you can back up projects you're working on in DaVinci Resolve. You can monitor all storage, connection and sync activity in real-time on a display connected via HDMI monitoring output. Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 includes 4 10G Ethernet ports for network sharing, an Ethernet port via USB-C and a built-in power supply - all in a sleek rack-mountable design.

Each hard drive slot operates completely independently, so you can connect up to 8 backup drives simultaneously. And when they're full, simply unplug them and replace them with new, empty drives - expanding your archive capacity. 4 10G Ethernet ports handle transfers with the latest high-speed, high-capacity drives. Plus, hard drives offer the lowest price per TB and high speed, making them ideal for archiving older projects.

Designed for film and television
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is the ideal solution for post-production workflows where finished projects need to be quickly archived to affordable storage. Great for creating archive footage - media files can be very voluminous, especially when recording multiple ISO channels at once. A security bar is included to lock the discs and prevent unauthorized removal. Modern hard drives are so fast that they can be used not only for archiving but also as primary storage. Additionally, you can archive projects from the Blackmagic Cloud to provide a live backup that is constantly synced to your project as you edit.

Sleek rack mount design
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 has a rack mount design, making it an ideal choice for installation in the studio alongside other network equipment, or for backing up camera footage on a DIT cart on set, for example. The device offers 8 independent hard drive slots, with all drives simultaneously accessible over the network. Each slot is elegantly illuminated with a light ring that indicates disk activity - so you always know when a disk is being read from or written to.

High-speed 10G Ethernet
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 offers up to 4 high-speed 10G Ethernet ports, normally only found on expensive computers. With 10G Ethernet, you get up to 10 times the speed of regular Ethernet. Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is fast enough to fully utilize the capacity of all 10G ports - even when connected to a network where dozens of users are accessing files simultaneously. In addition, the Ethernet connection offers very low latency, ensuring fast data access. This delivers performance comparable to professional enterprise SAN storage, but in an affordable design that you can install yourself.

Intelligent synchronization to Blackmagic Cloud
Blackmagic Cloud performs continuous backups, eliminating the need for manual archiving. Once the job is complete, it remains available on Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 drives, freeing up space on your primary fast flash storage. Blackmagic Cloud also provides a proxy workflow in DaVinci Resolve, transferring the proxy files first and then the original files from your camera.
