Datavideo HDR‑80 is a desktop recorder and player for UHD 4K and HD video. It records 4K over HDMI or 12G‑SDI and can capture up to four HD/3G‑SDI sources for ISO post‑production. Two removable 2.5-inch SSDs, a touchscreen and a wide range of inputs and outputs make it easy to integrate into a control room, OB van or post-production workflow.
Datavideo HDR‑80: UHD 4K and HD recording
HDR‑80 combines recording, playback and monitoring in a desktop unit. Use it for a standalone 4K programme recording or capture up to four HD/3G‑SDI ISO tracks simultaneously for separate post-production.
Recording for post-production
Video is recorded as QuickTime MOV files using Apple ProRes 422 HQ, 422, LT or Proxy. Two removable 2.5-inch SSDs in drive enclosures provide storage; the exFAT file system makes it easy to transfer media between the recorder and a computer.
For multi-camera work, record up to four HD streams simultaneously over 3G‑SDI. Each source remains available for separate editing, synchronisation and post-production.
Inputs and outputs for production and monitoring
Inputs include 1× 3G/12G‑SDI, 3× 3G‑SDI, HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4. Monitoring and playback outputs comprise 1× 3G/12G‑SDI, HDMI 2.0 and three HDMI 1.4 outputs. Digital audio can be embedded over SDI or HDMI; two balanced analogue XLR inputs and two XLR outputs are also provided.
Control, synchronisation and captions
The built-in 5-inch touchscreen is used to configure the recorder and monitor video. External control is available through DVIP over Ethernet, RS‑232/422 and GPI. A dedicated timecode input and output are provided; Black Burst and Tri-Level Sync reference signals support synchronisation with loop-through.
HDR‑80 can store closed captions as metadata in a MOV file for quick post-production. Audio is recorded as uncompressed PCM at 48 kHz / 24-bit.
