Datavideo CAP-1 SDI to USB 3.0 Capture Box

Datavideo CAP-1 converts an HD/3G-SDI signal from a camera or video switcher into UVC video for streaming, recording and video conferencing. Over USB 3.0 it captures up to 1080p50/60 and draws its power from the computer; no driver is needed on commonly supported systems. SDI loop-through keeps a signal available for monitoring, while audio can come from SDI or the external 3.5 mm stereo input.

CAP-1 converts an HD/3G-SDI signal from a camera or video switcher into UVC video for recording, live streaming or video conferencing. It connects over USB 3.0, draws power from the computer and supports resolutions up to 1080p at 50/60 frames per second.

CHOOSE THE MODEL FOR YOUR VIDEO OUTPUT

CAP-1 accepts an HD/3G-SDI signal and also passes it through its SDI loop-through output, for example to a monitoring display. The shared image shows CAP-1 with SDI input alongside the related CAP-2 with HDMI input; choose the version that matches the connector on your video source.

NO SEPARATE POWER SUPPLY

The USB connection carries video to the computer and powers the converter. The device supports UVC and automatically detects resolution and frame rate.

EMBEDDED OR EXTERNAL AUDIO

Send audio embedded in the SDI signal to the computer, or connect a stereo line source to the 3.5 mm input. A switch on the unit selects the audio source; the SDI loop-through output also lets you monitor the signal in a downstream chain.

FOR OBS, VLC AND OTHER UVC APPS

CAP-1 is designed for common streaming, recording and conferencing applications. CAP-1 is compatible with OBS and VLC on Windows, Linux and macOS; application availability depends on the operating system and its version.
