Product description
Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is a miniature studio camera with an active MFT mount, a 4K sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO. For live production it offers 12G-SDI and HDMI with tally and remote control from compatible ATEM switchers, and it records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW to an external USB-C disk. The body with a magnesium alloy core is not much larger than the mount, so you can place the camera where a regular camera will not fit.
Professional 4K images where a large camera won’t fit
A 4K sensor with 13 stops, 12G-SDI and HDMI with control from an ATEM switcher and Blackmagic RAW recording to a USB-C disk in a body measuring 84 × 69.5 × 65.8 mm.

Over SDI and HDMI the camera uses the same control protocol as ATEM switchers: tally, color corrector, iris, focus and zoom of compatible lenses and record start.
More angles for live production
Hide the small camera on set, in a classroom, church, conference hall or sports studio and add more angles to your program. The body with a tough magnesium alloy core is not much larger than the lens mount itself.
Tally light
The tally light glows red when on air, green for preview and orange for ISO recording, so talent can see at a glance which camera is on air. The camera fully supports tally from ATEM switchers via SDI and HDMI.
12G-SDI and HDMI
The 12G-SDI output with a Micro BNC connector carries video up to 2160p60, and the SDI program return input brings program, tally and control from the switcher. The full size HDMI output provides video up to 1080p60 for a monitor or an ATEM Mini switcher, from which the camera receives tally, color corrector control and the record trigger.
Blackmagic RAW recording to a USB-C disk
The USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port (up to 5 Gb/s) records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW to an external disk for later editing and color correction. It is also used to control the camera over a network via a USB-Ethernet adapter (REST API) and to connect Focus Demand and Zoom Demand controllers.
MFT lenses and a sensitive sensor
The active MFT mount takes affordable lenses from Olympus, Panasonic, Sigma and others and controls iris, focus and zoom on supported lenses. The Four Thirds sensor has 13 stops, dual native ISO 400 and 3200 and gain from −12 dB to +36 dB (ISO 100 to 25,600). The 4096 × 2160 sensor and Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science bring the same imaging technology as digital film cameras.
Power with backup
The locking 12 V DC connector cannot be pulled out accidentally and the power supply comes with five AC socket adapters for different countries. The LP-E6 compatible battery slot provides backup during critical broadcasts, and the camera keeps the battery trickle charged.
