The Tilta LP-E6P is a replacement battery for Canon cameras that take the original LP-E6P cell. Its size and shape match the original, so it drops into the battery compartment without play and without adapters. The difference is the USB-C input on the battery itself: it charges from an ordinary cable off a power bank, a laptop or a mains adapter, so there is no charger to pack. The input handles 5 V / 2 A (10 W) and a full charge takes roughly 2.4 hours.

Inside sits a decoding chip that passes battery data to the body. The camera therefore shows the state of charge as a percentage exactly as with the original and raises no unrecognised-battery message. The 2400 mAh capacity is higher than that of the original cell; measured by Tilta to the CIPA standard, the battery delivers 529 stills or two hours of video on a single charge.

The housing is PC + ABS and the battery carries multi-stage protection — against overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit, overcurrent, overheating and magnetic fields. The CCC, FCC, CE, PSE, KC, UL, BSMI certifications cover safety requirements for the European and overseas markets. Operating temperature is −20 to 60 °C, so the battery works in frost and in heat alike.

According to the camera manufacturer, the LP-E6P cell is intended for EOS R5 Mark II, EOS R6 V, EOS R6 Mark III, EOS R5, EOS R6, EOS R6 Mark II, EOS R7, EOS R, EOS 5D Mark II, EOS 5D Mark III, EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS 5Ds, EOS 5Ds R, EOS 6D, EOS 6D Mark II, EOS 7D, EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 60D, EOS 70D, EOS 80D, EOS 90D. Check the cell type for your particular body in its manual; the list changes with new models. The EOS R5, R6, R6 Mark II and R7 need updated firmware to reach the same continuous shooting speed with the LP-E6P as with the LP-E6NH.
