Tilta Half Camera Cage for Canon R6 Mark III - Black

The Tilta Half Camera Cage for Canon R6 Mark III is a light half cage for the Canon R6 Mark III and the Canon R5 Mark II. It weighs just 97 grams, grips the body underneath and on the grip side, and leaves the battery and the memory cards free. Silicone padding protects the body, the built-in Arca-Swiss bottom plate sits on gimbals and tripods, and the magnetic combined key is always to hand.

The half cage is for the times when a full cage gets in the way. It wraps the Canon R6 Mark III only underneath and along the grip side, so the camera does not turn into a brick, yet it gains 1/4″-20 threads and an Arca-Swiss bottom plate. It weighs 97 grams — less than most of the quick release plates it replaces.

Fits two bodies

The cage is machined for the Canon R6 Mark III and fits the Canon R5 Mark II as well. It follows the outline of the body, so nothing overhangs and no control is covered.

A magnetic tool in the cage

A combined tool — a flat-head screwdriver and an Allen key in one — is held by a magnet in the bottom plate of the cage. It pulls out from underneath in one move, ready to tighten the mounting screw.

Silicone padding against wear

Silicone padding sits between the cage and the camera body. It absorbs shock and, above all, keeps the metal from wearing the finish where the two meet.

Ports and battery stay open

The cut-outs are laid out so that every port, the battery door and the memory card slots stay reachable. The battery can be swapped without taking the cage off.

The half cage holds at two points — a screw underneath and the flank by the grip — so it cannot turn while staying as light as possible. The built-in Arca-Swiss bottom plate sits on a DJI gimbal, a tripod head or Tilta’s height-adjustable 15mm LWS baseplate.

Because the half cage never touches the top of the body, the hot shoe and the whole top panel of controls stay clear. For a monitor or a microphone use the camera’s own shoe, or move up to the TA-T99-FCC-B full cage, which adds a cold shoe, 3/8″-16 threads and the cable clamp.
