High-speed burst shooting at up to 20 fps
The groundbreaking Exmor RSTM CMOS Full Frame CMOS sensor and BIONZ X processor offer high-speed continuous shooting at up to 20 fps1 and AF/AE tracking. Exceptional speed and ample buffering allow you to capture decisive moments.

Shooting without loss of imaging
Electronic shutter eliminates loss of view with SLR steps. The subject is visible even after the shutter is released in Live View (60 fps), with little lag in continuous shooting

AF/AE calculations at up to 60 fps
Light strikes the image sensor without mechanical interruption. Mirrorless design and speed-enhancing technologies offer AF/AE function in the focal plane of Full Frame format.

Electronic shutter speeds up to 1/32,000 s
Electronic shutter speeds of up to 1/32,000 sec outperform mechanical shutter speeds in image expression. Even in bright environments, you can maintain a shallow depth of field without using an ND filter.

No distracting noises
Electronic shutter with minimal distortion allows you to capture a scene quietly5 without risking interference from mechanical mirror or shutter sounds, such as during exciting sporting events.

Anti-flicker shooting
The camera detects fluorescent and artificial light flicker and times the shutter to suppress exposure and color anomalies (at high shutter speeds) or inconsistencies between burst shots.

10 fps7 with mechanical shutter
Mechanical shutter now allows continuous shooting up to 10 frames/s7 and can also be used with flash. You can use high-speed continuous shooting for scenes as needed

In-body 5-axis optical image stabilization provides the benefit of a high shutter speed of 5.5 stops. Live-View monitor image stabilization enables capture of even fast-moving subjects.

The digital audio interface enhances the Multi Interface Shoe (MI Shoe) socket. With the new ECM-B1M directional microphone, you can record high-quality audio with minimal quality loss.

Fast data transfer with 1000BASE-T connector
You now have smooth, reliable and high-speed transfer of large image files to north FTP via a LAN connector supporting 1000BASE-T. FTPS (File Transfer Protocol over SSL/TLS) guarantees high security.

Background FTP data transfer support

Add voice annotations to images
The new Voice Memo function allows you to record audio descriptions of content or shooting conditions up to 60 s. They are added to images in .wav format. IPTC information and camera serial number information can also be added to image files.

Remote control with Remote Camera Tool
The Remote Camera Tool21 computer application enables remote control convenient in cases of limited photographer access, for example when shooting from a bird's eye view from the roof of a stadium.

5 GHz Wi-Fi® interface

Two media drawers, both supporting UHS-II interface
Both media drawers are compatible with UHS-I and UHS-II interfaces for fast data writing. The A9 II can record both simultaneous and relay recording, separate RAW or JPEG data and still or video images, and copy data between cards.

Save/Load function
The new Save/Load function saves settings to an SD memory card and loads them, allowing convenient sharing with other A9 II cameras. The FTP Transfer Function is a Save/Load function that saves and loads FTP-related settings.

Use on-the-spot star rating and image protection with the preview playback view. You can also review large collections of 10 or 100 images, or you can review burst images in groups.
