Desview U6 5.5" Touch Screen Field Monitor

The compact U6 5.5" 4K HDMI Camera Control Monitor from Desview provides professional monitoring in a sharp 5.5" IPS LCD with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2800 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and touchscreen control. The monitor features HDMI input and output, and it supports up to DCI and UHD 4K video input and pass-through output. It also features a USB Type-C port that provides 5V power input for the monitor, and it also can be used for LANC camera control functions such as iris and focus. You can also power your camera or other accessories using the 8 VDC barrel output.

99.5% DCI-P3 Color Gamut

The panel covers 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color space and accurately reproduces the colors of the scene, including fine details. The comparison with the narrower Rec.709 space shows how much wider a range of tones the monitor can display.

Camera Control via LANC Cable

Once connected with the LANC control cable, you can watch the shot on the monitor and control the camera directly from the touchscreen: start recording (REC), iris, focus, zoom, playback and other functions. Supported cameras include the Sony FS7/FX6, Canon C200/C100 and Z CAM E2, with more models continuously being added.

HDMI 2.0 Input and Output

The monitor accepts 4K signals via HDMI 2.0 at up to 60 Hz and passes them on to other devices via the HDMI output. It supports 3840 × 2160p and 4096 × 2160p formats at 24, 25 and 30–60 Hz.

2800-nit Brightness

With an ultra-bright 2800-nit panel, the screen stays clearly visible even in direct sunlight, without a sun hood.

Metal Body

The monitor body is made of aluminum alloy – it is durable and comfortable to hold. On the back is a battery plate for Sony F series batteries.

Gravity Sensor with Automatic Image Rotation

The built-in gravity sensor rotates the image together with the orientation of the monitor. You can even mount the monitor upside down and the image stays correctly oriented, whatever angle you view the shot from.

Custom 3D LUTs

The monitor includes a range of built-in camera LUTs and stores up to 30 user LUTs, which you load from a USB drive. You can switch between them quickly and delete LUTs you no longer need manually.

Light Sensor

The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness to the intensity of the surrounding light – brighter in the sun, dimmer in low light.

HDR Monitoring

HDR mode displays a wider dynamic range and more detail in highlights and shadows, so the image better reflects how the scene looks in reality.

Touchscreen

The U6 monitor adopts a 5.5" touchscreen panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Tapping the screen with one finger can control the whole monitor, and it supports gestures such as pinch to zoom, which helps check every corner and detail of the image. A short press on the power button can lock the screen to prevent accidental changes to your selections.

The 2800 cd/m² high brightness provides a clear display, even when filming in bright exteriors.

Zoom into the image by spreading two fingers and check the details right during the shoot.

Shortcut Menu

The clear menu is designed for touch control, so you find the function you need quickly. Swipe along the left edge of the screen to adjust the backlight, along the right edge for volume, and swipe up from the bottom to open the shortcut menu with assist functions.

8V DC Power for Your Camera

The 8V DC output powers the camera via a dummy battery, so the camera does not have to run on its own battery and can shoot longer.

Multiple Power Options

Power the monitor from a Sony F series battery, from a power supply via the 7–24V DC IN input, or via USB-C from a 5V 3A power bank.

Professional Assist Functions

A rich set of assist functions helps you check focus and exposure and improves the quality of your footage. Available tools include a vectorscope, waveform (RGB/luminance), RGB and brightness histograms, false color in Spectrum and ARRI modes, and zebra.

The monitor also offers single color channel display, mark ratio, center mark, safe area, pixel to pixel, H/V delay, color temperature adjustment, peaking, audio meters, image flip, battery notification, grid lines, aspect ratio selection and zoom.

The IPS LED panel has a viewing angle of 178° L/R, U/D for good color and contrast, even with off-axis viewing, and it displays 99.5% of the DCI-P3 standard. The U6 is powered using the integrated L-series battery plate or via a separately available DC adapter. A USB Type-A port allows you to import custom 3D LUTs. Two 1/4"-20 threads on the side and bottom allow you to mount the monitor on a variety of configurations, or you can use the included cold shoe adapter to mount the monitor on your camera. The 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom allows you to monitor the embedded audio.
