Product description

The Datavideo HDR-1 is a standalone USB recorder and player that records HD video from its HDMI input directly to USB storage and plays finished files back over HDMI. It works without a connected computer, making it suitable for recording conferences, lectures, school events and concerts, as well as playing prepared announcements on its own. It stores H.264 video with AAC audio in MP4 at up to 1080p30; recordings can be shared after an event without transcoding. HDR-1 also has an HDMI output and supports GPI and RS-232 control. A 12 V AC adapter is included. An optional power bank can provide emergency backup when the main DC supply fails; it is not included and is not intended as the recorder’s normal power source.

Standalone recording without a computer

Record HDMI directly to USB

HDR-1 records video and audio from HDMI to an MP4 file on USB storage. After recording, the file can be played back over HDMI or shared without transcoding. The unit works standalone and is operated with the front-panel buttons.

Recording up to 1080p30

One HD channel is stored as an MP4 file with H.264 video and AAC audio.

Immediate or timer recording

Start recording immediately or schedule it with the timer. Record/Pause makes operation during an event easier.

Control and playback

GPI and RS-232 interfaces are available in addition to the front-panel buttons. HDR-1 plays supported MP4 files over HDMI.

Storage and power

Recordings are stored on USB storage formatted as NTFS. Files on an SD card connected through a USB adapter and on external HDD or SSD drives are also supported; media compatibility and speed should be checked for each device. A 12 V power adapter is included. An optional power bank can provide emergency backup when the main DC supply fails; it is not included and is not intended as the recorder’s normal power source.

The player also supports 3D files in Top-and-bottom and Side-by-side Half modes and includes basic video editing functions. HDMI 1.4b compatibility describes the device’s signal interface.
