Blackmagic Design

Blackmagic Design has introduced two new Thunderbolt I/O devices that offer broader compatibility with Mac, Windows, and Linux computers equipped with USB4 orThunderbolt 4 ports. The new UltraStudio Express 3G series includes a model for video capture and a model for video output, designed for professional broadcast environments. Both devices support all SD and HD video standards up to 1080p60 resolution.

The UltraStudio Express Recorder 3G (input only) allows recording from 3G-SDI and HDMI interfaces. It’s ideal for live streaming via applications such as Open Broadcaster, archiving footage from older broadcast recorders into your favorite editing software, or into the free Media Express software included with the package. Recording is also possible from gaming consoles.

The UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G (output only) provides output via 3G-SDI and HDMI. It is the ideal solution for professional video monitoring when playing back from popular editing applications such as DaVinci Resolve.

Both models feature a compact, pocket-sized design and are powered directly via the USB connection, drawing power directly from the connected computer—including its battery.
