The Tilta Khronos Universal Smartphone Case Ultimate Kit is a complete mobile filmmaking rig for any phone 70–90 mm wide. Beyond the cage, two NATO handles and magnetic filtration it includes an active cooling system and a USB-C hub with HDMI output and 10 Gbps transfer for ProRes RAW recording to an external SSD.
The top kit of the universal Khronos line. To the cage with its 70–90 mm clamping range it adds both of the things that decide a long shoot: cooling that keeps the phone out of thermal throttling, and a USB-C hub that sends the signal to a monitor and the recording to an external drive.
The cage clamps phones 70 to 90 mm wide (2.75–3.5″), which covers most models from the major brands. The clamping adjusts across several axes, so the cage aligns to the height and protrusion of each phone's camera module. Wave-shaped grooves on both sides of the frame give a solid grip even without a handle, and when you change phones the whole rig stays the same.
The hub mounts on the cage and connects to the phone with a short USB-C cable. The HDMI output sends the image to a monitor or wireless transmitter, the second USB-C port takes an external SSD for ProRes RAW recording, and data flows at up to 10 Gbps. The PD input takes up to 100 W from a power bank and returns up to 36 W to the phone, so power holds up all shooting day.
The cooling system clicks onto the cage in one move and runs in three modes: blue 18–27 W by temperature, purple 20–27 W with fan speed control and red 27 W, which cools the contacted surface in as little as 40 seconds. Filtration comes from the magnetic 58 mm holder with the included variable ND filter (1–5 stops) and the 62 mm threaded tray for standard screw-on filters; both align across three axes.
Khronos is a modular system for shooting with a phone: a case or cage with mounting points that take magnetic filters, cooling, handles, lights, a USB-C hub and brackets via quick release. The parts combine and carry over between phone generations — this one is among them.
