Tilta Khronos 2.4G Nucleus Wireless Receiver - Black

The Tilta Khronos 2.4G Nucleus wireless receiver in Black brings the phone into the same workflow as a cinema camera: the focus puller holds the Nucleus Nano II hand wheel and pulls the iPhone's focus and zoom from a distance, through the Blackmagic Camera app. The receiver mounts to the Khronos case by quick release, connects to the phone with the included USB-C cable and links to the hand wheel on 2.4 GHz with a range of up to 50 m.

The Khronos 2.4G Nucleus Wireless Receiver is a 23 g receiver that gives an iPhone in a Khronos case wireless control of focus and zoom. The phone stays on the gimbal or tripod, the focus puller stands where they need to, and the 2.4 GHz link holds where Bluetooth would no longer do.

Quick release onto the case, a cable into the phone

The receiver mounts by quick release to any free mounting point of the Khronos case — press PRESS, seat, release — and connects to the iPhone with the included short USB-C cable, which also powers it; it has no battery of its own. The body of aluminum alloy and SUS304 stainless steel measures 46 × 22 × 23 mm and, at 23 g, does not load the rig. It comes off just as quickly and carries over between Khronos cases for iPhone of every generation.

Focus and zoom from the Nucleus hand wheel

The receiver pairs with the Nucleus Nano II hand wheel — and with the Nucleus-M and Nucleus-N systems as well — and passes the commands to the Blackmagic Camera app, which controls focus and zoom in the iPhone. The focus puller thus works as with a cinema camera: wheel in hand, marks on the scale, the phone on a gimbal or tripod. The 2.4 GHz band gives a more stable link than Bluetooth and a range of up to 50 m (164 ft), so the wheel does not have to be at the camera.

Pairing in two presses

Once power is connected, the indicator lights red. A double press of the button puts the receiver into pairing mode — the indicator flashes — and once paired with the hand wheel it lights green. No extra app, no menu: the link is restored at every power-up and the status can be read at a glance, even from the focus puller's position.

The Tilta Khronos ecosystem

Khronos is a modular system for shooting with a phone: a case or cage with mounting points that take magnetic filters, cooling, handles, lights, a USB-C hub and brackets via quick release. The parts combine and carry over between phone generations — this one is among them.
