The Panasonic S1M2 is a high-performance hybrid camera with a 24 megapixel partially layered CMOS sensor that can capture up to 96 megapixel images (even handheld) in High Resolution mode. The kit includes a Panasonic LUMIX S 24-105mm f/4.0 Macro OIS lens. Availability is expected for June 2025.
The Panasonic S1M2 offers 5.1K Open Gate 60p 10-bit/6K30p 10-bit video quality, 15 EV dynamic range, 7-70 fps sequential shooting and 0.5-1.5 s Pre-Burst shooting in 14bit RAW / 10bit HEIF / 8bit JPEG formats. The S1M2 handles continuous shooting up to 70 fps without preview dropout (in SH priority speed mode) or 10 fps with mechanical shutter.
The Panasonic S1M2 features a fully rotatable and tilting 1.84-megapixel display, a high quality 5.76-megapixel OLED viewfinder, two memory card slots(CFexpress B + SD), an 8-way joystick, 25 customizable buttons, a convenient Photo/Video/S&Q mode switcher and tally. The magnesium alloy body weighs 800 g and is dust, moisture and freeze resistant (down to -10 °C).
Precise hybrid phase focusing with 779 points uses artificial intelligence to recognize people, animals, cars, trains, planes, etc. The camera also uses AI for white balance.
The Panasonic S1M2 can shoot at up to 5.1K resolution at 60 fps and supports internal ProRes RAW HQ recording or output via HDMI for Blackmagic RAW or ProRes RAW. It also offers V-Log and ARRI LogC3 support (when activated with the DMW-SFU3A key) and can handle Full HD video up to 240 fps. In addition, the new sensor that enables fast image processing significantly suppresses rolling shutter.
The new Panasonic S1M2 supports 32-bit Float (with the DMW-XLR2 adapter) and allows the use of custom LUT profiles in real time.
Up to 8EV of shake compensation is provided thanks to the combination of in-body five-axis stabilization (BIS) and Dual I.S. 2. In addition, advanced electronic stabilization modes are available, including Active I.S. for video and lossless crop for wide-angle shots.
The Panasonic S1M2 lets you record directly to an external SSD and stream via USB. Of course, proxy recording support and integration with the LUMIX Lab app are also included.
The body of the LUMIX S1R II is complemented by the Panasonic LUMIX S 24-105mm f/4.0 Macro OIS wide-range prime zoom lens, which features 6K photo & 4K video, f/4.0 aperture, 1:2 macro and weatherproof optical stabilizer for L-Mount standard.
