The BMCC-03 is a LanParte-customized kit for Blackmagic Cinema Camera or Blackmagic Production Camera 4K. It's solid and compact. LanParte uses modular components to put the rig together, so adjusting the rig or changing it for a different camera in the future is not only possible, but easy. If you own a BMCC or a BMPC4K and aim for professional use, you definitely need to look at this complete rig. The BMCC-03 set contains all of the basic parts of the BMCC-01 (handles, plates, cage etc.), and BMCC-02 (V-Mount plate and charger) rigs, but also adds follow focus and matte box assemblies, plus large handles to create a complete, professional system.
Press Release
Blackmagic Design announced that Stephen Jackson, the director of photography for ABC's Once Upon a Time uses Blackmagic Cinema Camera EF regularly on the show.
Once Upon a Time’s success and popularity has consistently made it a top twenty series, and it is currently in its fourth season. Stephen Jackson is a Vancouver based director of photography for some of the biggest shows and films, including Once Upon a Time, V, Hellboy 3, Cabin in the Woods and 4400. He has been the primary DP for Once Upon a Time since its beginning, and uses the Blackmagic Cinema Camera for various shots on the show.
“When the show I worked on was thinking about replacing our aging cameras we looked at many possibilities. One of my camera people had been at NAB and seen the Blackmagic cameras and was very impressed. So after a little research I settled on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. As it was a replacement for our “crash cam” we bought the camera with the EF mount to continue with our Canon lenses,” said Jackson.

“I was so impressed with the ease of working with this camera and the images! The dynamic range and the colour palette is outstanding. The size and ease of mounting is also very helpful. We use it in cars and and on horses, dig a hole on the road and let horses run over it! The operators can just attach the handle to the top mounts and run with it. Love this camera so much we bought a second one with the PL mount for inserts!”

Panasonic has announced a free firmware upgrade for its popular AJ-PX270 P2 HD handheld that incorporates a new codec (AVC-Intra Class200), full HD streaming and automatic contents transfer, and new recording formats, all enhancing production and remote newsgathering. The addition of the high-quality AVC-Intra Class200 codec (10-bit, 4:2:2, bitrate approx 200Mbps) enables visually lossless recording at twice the bit rate of AVC-Intra Class100, delivering studio master quality for recording network-level programming and archiving. AVC-Intra Class200 is ideal for field capture of content for film-outs; the higher recording quality greatly enhances color correction processes, as well as green screen and compositing applications. With the additional AVC-Intra Class200 recording, the PX270 delivers the highest quality recording available in a handheld professional camcorder. Network functionality is also bolstered with newly-added streaming facilitating full HD output (wired, optional wireless, and optional 4G/LTE network) during recording. The implication for news gathering is that a breaking news event can be streamed to a broadcast station while acquisition is in progress in the field. In addition, Panasonic has added the "Rec during Uploading" function to the PX270 to allow automatic transfer of recorded contents to an FTP server, which means that recording is possible even while video content are being uploaded. The firmware also supports a new iPad-based P2 Remote Operation Panel application, which enables wireless control of the PX270 camera settings (picture quality, zoom, focus and rec/stop operation, for example) using an iPad. The App will be available free of charge at the Apple App Store. The firmware upgrade supplements the PX270's already extensive recording formats with the addition of 1080/30p, 25p, 24p and native 1080 24PsF HD-SDI output, expanding production uses such as external recording and monitoring, as well as 720/30p, 25p, 24p, improving web production efficiencies. The upgrade also activates proxy editing on a web browser.
