Blackmagic Design introduced several new products this fall, including a beta version of DaVinci Resolve 17, a compact DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor driver for the Cut section editing features (just coming to market; first shipments are expected around the end of November; as part of a launch promotion, DaVinci Resolve Studio will be temporarily included!

), the Fairlight Desktop Console audio console (on sale during December), and the Fairlight HDMI Monitor Interface converter for using any HDMI or SDI monitors with Fairlight audio consoles. DaVinci Resolve 17 will be the largest update in the program's history to date, with over 300 new features including tools for color correction of HDR material, redesigned primary color correction features, next generation Fairlight audio technology with support for up to 2,000 real-time audio tracks, new options for binning media, and many other new features. Manufacturer Datavideo has launched a brand new mobile app for its reading devices, dvPrompter Plus for iOS and Android! It is a completely redesigned version with a number of new features and a clearer user interface. The basic version is still offered for free, additional features (especially remote network access including the ability to edit text using a web browser) are available for an additional $9.99 (directly in the app).

The new integrated text editor allows changing the color and font of text or inserting images/videos, which is convenient for e.g. shows with multiple presenters. The app can also be controlled remotely with the WR-500 - the buttons on the remote can be assigned to any function of the dvPrompter Plus app.
