The LUMIX S1R II features a new 44.3 MP BSI CMOS sensor and a high-performance processor with L2 technology, which together enable you to create photos and videos with the impressive color reproduction typical of LUMIX. The high-resolution mode even allows you to take photos with up to 177 MP. Included in the kit is the versatile Lumix S Pro 16-35mm F4 wide-angle zoom lens .
This is the first LUMIX camera capable of shooting 8K video. The popular Open Gate feature has been improved, and the S1RM2 allows shooting in 6.4K. With an upcoming firmware update, it will even be possible to shootin 8.1K. It also supports internal recording of 5.8K Apple ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW for high-quality video data.
Highly developed real-time recognition, Phase Hybrid AF now with AI tracking , quickly and accurately detects human eyes and faces and smoothly tracks the subject's movements. With high-speed continuous shooting of up to 40 frames per second and AF tracking, dynamic subjects can be captured with high accuracy.
The highly acclaimed image stabilization has been further improved. It achieves 8.0 EV compensation with built-in stabilization and 7.0 EV even in the telephoto range with Dual I.S. Advanced video image stabilization offers E.I.S. distortion correction without cropping, reducing peripheral distortion in wide-angle shooting.
Key features:
The Lumix S Pro 16-35mm F4 (S-R1635) lens for the Lumix S system is a versatile wide-angle zoom lens that, despite its compact size and lightweight construction, delivers high-resolution images with beautiful bokeh. The lens boasts top-notch image quality for both photos and videos.
The optical system consists of 12 elements in 9 groups, including three aspherical lenses. ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lenses and their optimal arrangement guarantee a high MTF transfer function. It offers exceptionally high resolution even in the corners of the frame at open aperture, stunning bokeh, and suppresses double bokeh and vignetting.
Autofocus is powered by a linear motor with two magnets. Despite its small size, it has high performance and a max. 480 fps sensor drive for fast and highly accurate autofocus. The FC (Focus Clutch) mechanism allows instant switching between AF/MF modes and highly accurate manual focus.
The Lumix S Pro 16-35mm f/4 is also a great choice for shooting video - its mechanism suppresses the change in angle of view when changing focus (known as focus breathing); this defect is a major problem with all interchangeable lenses primarily designed for photography.
The robust, dust/splash-resistant construction can withstand colder climatic conditions (down to -10°C) and offers high mobility. The filter diameter is 77 mm and the aperture consists of 9 blades and is circular in shape.
