Tilta Camera Cage for Panasonic S1R II Base Kit - Black

The Tilta TA-T80-A-B kit builds a complete working foundation around the Panasonic Lumix S1R II. The full cage protects the body, holds it at three points and adds 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating pins. The ARCA bottom plate drops onto tripods and DJI Ronin gimbals, the height-adjustable baseplate aligns the lens axis to the 85 mm LWS standard and the Xeno top handle adds a cold shoe for a monitor.

Three points of contact, no play

The cage wraps around the whole body and connects to it at three points — the bottom screw and two side security points. The frame will not rotate even with a heavy lens, and it stays a solid base for the top handle, a monitor and a microphone. The battery, the card slot and every control stay accessible, and the openings around the frame let the body breathe.

Six Lumix bodies, one cage

The same frame fits the Lumix S1R II, S1 II, S1 IIE, S5 II, S5 IIX and G9 II — Panasonic keeps an identical footprint across these bodies. If you work with two of them, the cage moves from one to the other with nothing else to buy. The side panel leaves the card slot and the battery door clear, so nothing has to come apart for a swap.

HDMI and USB-C stay put

The included cable clamp holds both HDMI and USB-C right at the cage, so a tug on the cable does not end at the camera connector. Recording to an external recorder or running off a power bank, that is the difference between a broken take and calm work. The clamp screws to the side of the cage and comes off when it is not needed.

Threads you can rely on

The frame carries 1/4″-20 threads with locating pins all around, so accessories cannot rotate. A 3/8″-16 to 1/4″-20 thread adapter is part of the cage, so a tripod head or an arm goes on without hunting for an adapter. Underneath sits a magnetically stored multi-functional screwdriver and a pair of M3 threads for the dedicated adapter support.

Lens axis on the 85 mm standard

The height-adjustable ARCA baseplate with 15 mm rods lets you raise the body 18 to 38 mm above the rods. That aligns the lens axis to the 85 mm LWS standard expected by matte boxes, follow focus units and lens supports. The plate also drops onto tripods and gimbals with a 38 mm ARCA clamp, so moving between a tripod and a Ronin is one click.

Compatibility and limitations

The cage is designed for the Panasonic Lumix S1R II, S1 II, S1 IIE, S5 II, S5 IIX and G9 II bodies.

The cage keeps every control accessible and the openings in the frame do not block ventilation. Tilta states it is compatible with most industry-standard lens adapters; with POCO adapters compatibility is only partial and changing a variable ND filter requires unmounting the adapter from the camera.

The side arm carries mounting points for an ARCA quick-release plate (not included) for fast transitions to vertical shooting.
