NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 SE lens

On the DX format, the 28 mm wide-angle prime gives an angle of view equivalent to about 42 mm in 35 mm terms, so it looks natural and suits everyday photography, street and vlogging. Its design is based on the AI NIKKOR lenses made for the Nikon FM2 film camera. 9 elements in 8 groups, focusing from 0.19 m, 52 mm filter thread and a weight of about 160 g.

Magnesium alloy body

The skeleton of the Z fc is made of magnesium alloy, the same material used in Nikon’s professional cameras. With battery and card the camera weighs about 445 g, so it goes with you effortlessly on trips and every day.

Video and vlogs

The Z fc records 4K UHD video up to 30p and Full HD up to 120p, with a slow-motion option. The vari-angle touchscreen turns to face forward for filming yourself – the camera then switches to self-portrait mode. For better sound, an external microphone can be connected via the 3.5 mm jack.

Right in any light

The 20.9 MP DX sensor and EXPEED 6 processor offer ISO 100–51,200 and autofocus working down to −4.5 EV. Eye-detection AF finds and holds the eyes of people, dogs and cats, even when the subject is moving.

Handles like a film camera

Dedicated dials for shutter speed, exposure compensation and ISO sensitivity let you set exposure without entering the menu. A small control panel on top shows the current aperture, and the electronic viewfinder has a round eyepiece like the optical finder of the Nikon FM2.

Creative presets and sharing

20 Creative Picture Controls are available for stills and video, with their effect visible in real time and adjustable strength. Images can be transferred to a smartphone via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the camera can also be charged via USB-C.
