Megadap Canon EF to Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter (EFTZ21)

This innovative adapter allows photographers to seamlessly adapt Canon EF lenses to Nikon Z cameras, both full frame and APS-C, unlocking 150+ new EF lenses to Nikon Z / RED camera users, opening up new possibilities for creative expression. It passes through autofocus including Eye-AF, automatic aperture, stabilisation and EXIF data, and the firmware is updated directly through the camera.

Compatible cameras and lenses

The adapter works with all Nikon Z cameras, from the Z5, Z6 and Z7 through the Z8 and Z9 to the Zf, Zfc, Z30, Z50 and ZR, and with RED Komodo and V-Raptor cameras in the Z-mount version. On the lens side it takes original Canon EF lenses as well as EF-mount lenses from other makers – Zeiss, Tamron, Samyang, Laowa or Sigma.

Control ring, L-Fn button and a rugged body

Assign aperture, exposure compensation, ISO sensitivity or another camera function to the customizable control ring. The customizable L-Fn button speeds up work with functions such as focus lock or exposure lock. The body is dustproof, water-resistant and anti-slip. The mounts are made of pure copper with pearl nickel plating, finished with a fine CD pattern and a matte surface.

Lens side: Canon EF

Autofocus is smooth and precise. All lens buttons work – focus limiter, stabiliser switch and AF/MF switch – and the adapter opens up the whole range of automatic Canon EF-mount lenses. The opening is shaped to the sensor area, so it causes no vignetting.

Camera side: Nikon Z

The aperture is synchronised automatically, so you can set it on the camera body or on the lens. Lens stabilisation stays active and suppresses blur. The camera records the lens model and shooting data in EXIF and shows them on the display. The adapter firmware is updated directly in the camera, with no extra tools.

Handling the adapter

• No hot swapping of lenses. Always switch the camera off before you remove the lens or the adapter.
• Do not touch the contacts with bare hands. Static electricity may damage the electronic components of the adapter.
• If users wish to use multiple EF-mount lenses with EFTZ21, when changing lenses, please turn off the camera and then remove ONLY the EF-mount lenses originally being mounted on the camera. Removing both the lens and adapter may cause adapter malfunctions.
• Do not turn the lens and adapter back and forth frequently, whether the camera is on or off.
• Battery drain may happen while the adapter is on camera. Remove the adapter from camera after use to avoid battery drain.

The EFTZ21 connects Canon EF lenses to Nikon Z mirrorless cameras – full frame and APS-C – and to RED cinema cameras with a Z mount. The adapter electronics pass focus and aperture commands between camera and lens, so an EF lens is operated just like a native one.
