Viltrox EF-Z2

Viltrox EF-Z2 is a 0.71× optical Speed Booster for using Canon EF lenses on Nikon Z cameras. It reduces effective focal length to 0.71×, increases aperture by one stop, and transfers autofocus, image stabilization and EXIF data with compatible combinations. The manufacturer lists Nikon Face and Eye Detection AF support on tested Z50, Z6 and Z7 bodies.

Viltrox EF-Z2: Canon EF to Nikon Z

The EF-Z2 0.71× optical adapter lets Canon EF lenses be used on Nikon Z cameras. It reduces effective focal length to 0.71× and increases aperture by one stop—a practical combination for a wider view, more light and continued use of an EF lens collection.

Lens-function communication

Metal contacts and a data chip transfer communication with a compatible lens: autofocus, image stabilization and EXIF data. Official support also includes Nikon Face and Eye Detection AF on the tested Z50, Z6 and Z7 bodies.

Compatibility is not universal: Viltrox publishes a tested Canon, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lens list; check the exact lens and firmware combination before purchase.

For a broad EF lens choice

EF-Z2 is for Canon EF lenses, not EF-M or cine CN-E. Supported lenses include selected zooms, primes, macro and tilt-shift lenses; Viltrox notes continuous- and video-focus limitations with some third-party lenses. Adapter firmware is available from the official Viltrox page.
