Datavideo announced the HS-3200, 1080p all-in-one hand carried production studio with built-in streaming encoder and recorder. The HS-3200 has a 12-channel video switcher, 17.3” LCD monitor for multi-view, H.264 streaming encoder, and recorder; which are all built inside the Datavideo’s iconic suitcase style chassis. You no longer need to connect multiple products in your workflow for switching, monitoring, streaming, and recording.

 Grass Valley released a new version of its popular EDIUS NLE software for Windows. The 9.31 update is free for all EDIUS 9 users and contains minor improvements and several new features:

EDIUS 9.31 New Features

 Extension of the "Edit marker" dialogue

 Both the Pro and Workgroup versions now contain an extended “Edit marker” dialogue box. In this the color of the marker is now freely selectable. For the division into chapters for Blu-ray, DVD, Flash Video and Stratus the standard orange marks are available. The out-point and duration can be set. Sequence markers now have an anchor option. For an even faster access to the dialogue box, it is now also possible to set a keyboard shortcut or a button. Details about this function can be found in our EDIUS podcast "New in EDIUS 9.31".

 Support for the new Fujifilm X-T3

 EDIUS now also supports the HEVC/H.265 footage of the Fujifilm X-T3. Thus, all formats of the new mirrorless system camera can now be processed directly.

 New Nikon N-Log color space

 EDIUS now also supports the new Nikon color space N-Log. This means that virtually all currently known log formats such as Arri Log-C, Canon C-Log, DJI D-Log, Fujifilm F-Log, JVC J-Log, Panasonic V-Log and Sony S-Log can be processed directly. This support also allows for a simple color space conversion via the primary color correction.

 Preview device: Video-out conversion

 This feature is interesting for users who e.g. work with UHD in 50p, but only use a UHD 25p editing card or just an HD monitor. Until now there was simply no output possibility if the preview device did not support the project format. Now the conversion allows a preview of higher resolutions and frame rates. An algorithm checks which conversion format is the most reasonable and compatible with the hardware. Both in the Pro and in the Workgroup version 9.31 the preview mode is displayed in the status bar. Depending on the conversion mode, a corresponding symbol is displayed. Details about this function can be found in our EDIUS podcast "New in EDIUS 9.31".

 Monitor Control

 The Workgroup version offers a special HDR Monitor Control function. This function takes over the color space control for compatible monitors. Currently some EIZO monitors are already supported, from version 9.31 now also the model "EIZO ColorEdge CG279X".

Blackmagic Design announced Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G, a new, upgraded model of its extremely popular rack mount audio monitoring solution. The new Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G features 12G-SDI video input, HDMI output, analog and AES/EBU inputs, a powerful class D amplifier, dual subwoofers, extended range speakers, an LCD and precision meters that can display VU, PPM and Loudness ballistic scales.

The Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G features the latest advanced 12G-SDI technology, along with professional balanced analog XLR and AES/EBU audio inputs, as well as consumer level HiFi audio inputs. That means customers can use it with virtually all analog and digital equipment. The multi rate 12G-SDI connection automatically switches speed based on the input signal, making it compatible with all SD, HD Ultra HD and DCI 4K equipment and formats up to 2160p60. Customers also get a 12G-SDI loop through for sending the original signal back out to other equipment, and an HDMI output for monitoring the signal on a big screen television.

 Designed to fit in a single standard rack unit, the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G is incredibly small yet features a surprisingly loud, crystal clear sound. The powerful new class D amplifier, combined with a dual subwoofer design and new extra wide range speakers, delivers a wide and smooth frequency response curve with crisp highs and powerful deep bass. It’s powerful and loud enough to hear in noisy environments such as broadcast equipment rooms, in the field in a fly away kit, or on the road in an outside broadcast truck.

The elegant front panel is designed from a solid block of machined aluminum and features a volume knob, control buttons, a standard headphone connection, precision meters and an integrated LCD screen. The audio meters feature 27 individual multi colored RGB LED segments per channel so the meter scale is infinitely customizable, making it easy to monitor a wide dynamic range. This new software update adds support for a new ISO 3200 option to URSA Mini Pro. The improved ISO, color and gamma options are also supported in DaVinci Resolve 15.2. In addition, Blackmagic Camera 6.0 update adds Blackmagic Design Generation 4 Color Science, new LUTs, 2:1 monitoring guides, new timecode locking from the SDI input, HDR metadata support via SDI and more! Blackmagic Design also releade a new Blackmagic RAW Player 1.1 for playing back Blackmagic RAW files along with the new Blackmagic RAW SDK 1.1 developer package.
