Tilta Nucleus-M II Top Handle Adapter for Hand Grip

The Tilta adapter WLC-T06-THA lays the Nucleus-M II Hand Grip horizontally on the camera: its NATO clamp locks onto the cage's NATO rail and the grip with the Zoom Module becomes a top handle from which focus and zoom are controlled at the same time. For cages without a rail, a NATO rail with 1/4"-20 threads is included. The camera is carried by the grip you focus with, and low shots near the ground come without twisting the wrist.

The Tilta Top Handle Adapter is the mount that turns the Nucleus-M II Hand Grip into the camera's top handle. The grip stops being a separate controller in the hand and becomes part of the rig — with all its buttons and the wheel under the fingers of the hand carrying the camera. The same adapter ships in the WLC-T06-K2 kit.

The hand grip as a top handle

The adapter holds the Nucleus-M II Hand Grip horizontally above the camera body, the way an ordinary top handle is held. The camera is carried by it, and because the hand rests on the grip's thumb wheel and buttons, you focus and zoom while walking and on low shots with the camera hanging near the ground — without a second hand and without the FIZ Hand Unit. The adapter clamps to the cage with its NATO clamp.

NATO and 1/4"-20, adjustable parts

The underside of the adapter is a NATO clamp: it locks onto the NATO rail of the cage or top plate and releases with one turn. For cages that have no rail, the package includes a NATO rail with 1/4"-20 threads that screws to the top plate. The adapter's parts are adjustable, so the grip slides and rotates into the position that suits the particular camera and hand; an Allen key for tightening is included.

The Tilta Nucleus-M II system

Nucleus-M II is wireless lens control: motors on 15/19 mm rods turn focus, iris and zoom, the FIZ hand unit or the hand grip with wheel drive them remotely, and power and data run over 7-pin cables. The parts of the WLC-T06 series combine — motor gears, cables, brackets, grip modules and the case all belong to the same system, including this one.
