The Tilta Hydra Alien Mini Master Kit (Forest Green) is a lightweight, shock-absorbing vehicle mounting system designed for capturing smooth cinematic footage with compact cameras. It features a hydraulic damping system, an electronic suction cup with real-time pressure monitoring, and a multi-axis stabilization platform for optimal performance on rough terrain.
The Tilta Hydra Alien Mini Master Kit is a complete sprung vehicle mount for action cameras, pocket gimbals and phones. It descends from the full-size Hydra Arm but weighs a fraction of it — the whole kit with electronic suction cup, counterweight and case comes to 2.59 kg. Stick it on a car, bolt it to the handlebar of a bike or a motorcycle, and shoot smooth footage where an ordinary mount gave up long ago.
The shape of the arm comes from the full-size HYDRA ARM car-mounting system. CNC-machined from aerospace aluminium alloy, it offers minimal drag and stays steady even at 100 km/h. It mounts to almost anything — a car, a motorcycle, an e-bike or a plain bicycle.
The whole structure is high-strength aerospace aluminium alloy, precision CNC-machined from a single billet. No glued or riveted joints — one rigid piece that keeps its geometry after hundreds of kilometres of vibration. The complete kit with suction cup, counterweight and soft case weighs 2.59 kg; the included 220 g counterweight balances the arm so the pull of the camera does not rest entirely on the cup.
The damper is filled with US automotive-grade oil of the kind used in racing dampers. It absorbs the micro-vibrations that would otherwise blur the image and carries 150 to 600 grams — DJI Action 3/4, DJI Osmo Pocket 3, Insta360 X4/X3 or a phone in the Khronos holder. The oil can be topped up at any time, so the damping stays the same after a season on dusty roads.
The joint turns a full 360° and locks in any position — not in steps, but infinitely. Point the camera exactly where you need it. The included extender arm adjusts on two axes as well, so you can push the rig away from the bodywork or swing it along it, depending on where the vehicle offers a flat surface.
The multi-axis HYDRA™ platform isolates high-frequency vibration before it reaches the camera. The result is smooth footage on broken roads, sand or cobbles — where an ordinary mount gives a shaky image. The last traces of shake are taken by the included shock-absorbing head, made for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and 4.
The 114 mm (4.5″) electronic suction cup monitors its own vacuum and tops it up automatically if it leaks — you do not have to wonder mid-drive whether it still holds. The built-in 2000 mAh battery lasts over 14 hours, and USB-C (5 V/1 A) input means you can keep it running from a power bank on a long shoot.
The included handlebar mount puts the arm where a suction cup has nothing to hold on to — a bicycle, an e-bike or a motorcycle. The clamp takes 28.8 mm bars, or 22.2 mm with the bushing fitted. It weighs only 83 g and is made of aluminium alloy, SUS304 stainless steel and nylon; the lock is toothed, so the angle you set holds even over bumps.
The shock-absorbing head is a sprung cradle that soaks up the remaining micro-vibrations right under the camera. Its silicone dampers have a hardness of 25 ShA and carry 250 g — a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 with the extended battery handle included. It mounts on a NATO rail or a 1/4″ thread; 180 g, 99.4 × 128.9 × 71.8 mm. Note: the head fits the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and 4 only.
Fit the suction cup on a flat surface and keep the weight of the arm balanced over its centre. Extending the arm well past the cup, or side-mounting it, increases the risk of it letting go — secure the rig with a ratchet strap or a safety cable in those situations. When attaching, always press the cup down firmly so that it sits visibly flatter; merely placed on the surface, it comes off far more easily.
Like any suction cup it can leave a mark on the surface, the more so in direct sun and heat. Do not use it on a wrapped vehicle, and protect paintwork with a protective film.
