The VR-120HD is a portable AV mixer for hybrid events that lets a single operator serve both the in-person audience and online viewers. It combines a 12-channel video switcher with six SDI and six HDMI inputs, a 42-channel audio mixer, two streaming encoders and SDXC recording.

Six SDI and six HDMI

SDI for long cable runs and professional cameras, HDMI with scalers, EDID and HDCP for computers, tablets and consoles. Every input has frame rate conversion.

A programme prepared in advance

32 scene memories, 100 macros and a sequencer with up to 1,000 steps set up the whole show beforehand. During the event you simply fire the prepared cues.

Eight pads for sounds

The Audio Player with eight pads triggers jingles, announcements or countdowns. Internal memory holds 16 audio files, and more can be played from an SDXC card.

Two streams without a computer

Over LAN the VR-120HD sends two independent streams up to 1080p/60 to Twitch, Facebook, YouTube or any RTMP service, with Adaptive Bitrate and an adjustable Safety Delay. Over USB-C it appears to a computer as a webcam for Zoom or Teams.

One operator, multiple audiences. Room projection, preview monitors, multi-view and the online stream are handled by one person without extra gear or crew.

Connections for the whole event. The rear panel offers six SDI and six HDMI inputs, three SDI and three HDMI outputs, six combo audio inputs, LAN, RS-232, tally/GPIO and reference sync.

Stills and video clips. Up to 16 BMP, JPEG or PNG images with alpha channel are stored in internal memory, and MP4 video clips play straight from the SDXC card.

Versatile video outputs. Program, Sub-Program, Preview, three AUX buses, multi-view and the DSK sources can be assigned to three SDI and three HDMI outputs, USB-C and the direct stream.

Analogue and digital inputs. Six balanced XLR/jack combo inputs with phantom power, four RCA inputs, embedded audio from HDMI, SDI and USB, and Bluetooth for playback from a phone.

A mix for every audience. The main mix and three AUX buses can be routed to XLR, RCA, USB, HDMI, SDI and the stream, for example a stage monitor mix and a separate mix for online viewers.

Adaptive Bitrate. The VR-120HD monitors the quality of the network connection and adjusts the streaming rate to avoid dropouts.

Backup over mobile data. A phone with a 4G or 5G data plan connected over USB can serve as the main streaming connection or as a backup if the network fails.

SRT input and output. SRT carries encrypted video and audio over LAN or the internet: remote cameras are switched together with local sources, and a dedicated SRT output can feed another building.

SDXC recording. The event is recorded to an SDXC card as H.264 MP4, with stereo WAV captured separately for podcasts. Stills grabbed from the outputs can be saved to the card too.

Scenes, macros and sequencer. Scene memories synchronise the transition of all layers, macros combine switching, DSK, audio adjustments and PTZ moves, and the sequencer fires them in exact order.

PTZ camera support. Up to 12 robotic cameras are controlled directly from the mixer, and shot presets can be stored and recalled from a USB numeric keypad.

Graphics and replay. Graphics Presenter for Windows adds titles and stinger transitions over a single HDMI cable, while a P-20HD linked via LAN/RS-232 adds recording and instant replay.

Remote control. The free VR-120HD Remote app for iPad, software for Mac and Windows, pedals, tally, and RS-232 and TALLY/GPIO connectors for fixed installations.
