Full HD 1920 × 1080, touch control
The F5 PROX is an on-camera field monitor built for working outdoors. At 1600 cd/m² it is roughly three times brighter than an ordinary 500-nit panel, so the picture stays readable in direct sun. The 160° viewing angles keep colour and brightness constant when you look from the side or when the monitor hangs off a gimbal.

The monitor ships calibrated and offers two modes. HDR captures a wider dynamic range and holds detail in both highlights and shadows — for scenes with hard light next to deep shadow. Rec.709 gives accurate, standard colour and serves as a reference for post-production.
Custom 3D LUTs load from an SD card as .cube files, so you can take the target look to the set rather than a flat log picture.

And, unusually, the monitor explains how to read them
Peaking highlights edges to show what is in focus — pull focus until the subject’s outline is fully highlighted. Zebra marks blown highlights with stripes; the threshold is adjustable, typically 70–75 % for skin tones and 90–100 % for sky and lamps.
False colour maps exposure levels onto a colour scale: blue is underexposed, green is correct exposure, pink is correctly exposed skin and red is clipping. The histogram shows the brightness distribution in real time, black on the left through white on the right.
Alongside these there are a waveform, a vector scope, check field, safe-area and aspect-ratio markers, anamorphic de-squeeze, zoom and pixel to pixel.

Embedded audio comes in over HDMI and is displayed on the monitor, so you can watch the levels in real time and avoid a silent or distorted take. A 3.5 mm headphone output sits next to it.
Input and output are 4K HDMI, plus Type-C. Power comes from Sony F970 batteries through the plate on the back, and the DC output can power the camera as well — the dummy-battery cable is not included and is chosen by the camera’s battery type and the size of its DC connector.

Besides the monitor the box holds a micro HDMI cable, a tilt arm for mounting on the camera, a sunshade, a Type-C to USB adapter, a disassemble wrench and the manual.
The battery is not included. The monitor runs from a Sony F970 series battery (F550, F750 or F970) through the plate on the back, or from an adapter — 12 V into the DC input, or 5 V / 2 A over Type-C.
