IDSA is one of the oldest and largest membership organizations for industrial design professionals. It annually holds IDEA, a prestigious competition that recognizes design excellence and innovation. This year’s competition evaluated more than 1,700 projects from around the globe and selected Blackmagic Design products for top awards.

The Blackmagic Cintel film scanner was honored with IDEA 2015 Chair and Gold awards. Customers are now able to use film for post production or unlock millions of hours of film based content for scanning to Ultra HD masters.

In addition, Blackmagic URSA was awarded Gold in IDEA’s Entertainment Category. Designed for large film crews as well as single person use, URSA is a digital film camera that features a 4.6K Super 35 sensor that captures 15 stops of dynamic range, 12G-SDI internal dual RAW and ProRes records, a global shutter, fold out 10” monitor and more.

The awards were presented during the 35th annual IDEA ceremony in Seattle, WA. It was held in conjunction with the IDSA International Conference 2015, that celebrated IDSA’s 50th anniversary.
