The SGM-250CX is a short length, condenser shotgun microphone that is ideal for mounting on compact digital cinema cameras, as well as mirrorless and DSLR cameras equipped with XLR adapters. At only 153 mm in length, the SGM-250CX is the perfect length to stay out of the way, but long enough to offer excellent rear and side sound rejection. The highly sensitive microphone element runs on 48 V phantom power and comes with a hardwired, (33 cm) XLR cable that provides convenient connection to camera.

Press Release

Blackmagic Design announced the new Cintel Audio and KeyKode Reader accessory for its Cintel Film Scanner, which lets customers scan audio and KeyKode information along with images from the scanner, all in realtime. The new audio and KeyKode reader accessory is available for 3.175 EUR ex. VAT.

The new Cintel Audio and KeyKode reader lets customers capture high quality audio along with KeyKode information directly from their film as they are scanning it. The reader features a magnetic audio head or deep red LED illumination supporting 16/35mm cyan, high magenta dye, silver optical or 16mm magnetic audio tracks, with advanced optics, electro formed slits, and precision mechanical adjustments for azimuth to deliver the best possible audio capture with incredible high frequency response, perfectly synchronized with the video. The precision capstan encoder automatically corrects wow and flutter, allowing customers to accurately capture audio, even when the scanner speed changes.

The new reader also gives customers the ability to scan KeyKode from their film. KeyKode numbers provide a way to identify each unique film frame, making it easier to correlate the film frames with their corresponding video frames after scanning is complete. This greatly simplifies post production workflows, especially when cutting or re-cutting previously edited material that comes from different rolls of film.

Panasonic announced the introduction of a full line-up of professional integrated cameras with built-in Network Device Interface (NDI) support: the AW-HN38, AW-HN40, AW-UN70 and AW-HN130. This fully integrated support of NDI version 3 enhanced with a new High Efficiency Mode allows users to connect these Panasonic professional PTZ cameras directly to an NDI network, with automatic detection by the NewTek TriCaster and NewTek's IP Series of professional video switchers, as well as to seamlessly integrate with the hundreds of other NDI-capable products in the marketplace. NewTek has just announced NDI version 3, improving greatly on an already simple workflow with SDK enhancements that improve encoding performance, multicast support with FEC (Forward Error Correction), standardized PTZ control commands and tally, and the addition of the High Efficiency Mode, NDI|HX, which allows hardware converters and cameras to enter the NDI world.

The AW-HN38, AW-HN40, AW-UN70, and AW-HN130 join Panasonic's market leading existing PTZ models (non “N” model), and will be available in both black and white colors. The AW-HN38 enters the Panasonic professional PTZ line-up as a high-value, premium quality model with a powerful feature-set similar to the AW-HN/HE40, but with 22x zoom, HDMI and native IP connectivity. The “N” cameras will feature an NDI mode within the camera menu that reconfigures the camera settings for best performance and full compatibility on an NDI network. Simply connect from the network (NDI) connector to the network switch and the video source is immediately available on any NDI-capable software application or production system. Full control of a remote PTZ camera with full tally support is also immediately available and requires no additional menu configuration due the tight collaboration between NewTek and Panasonic on NDI version 3.

Customers who have purchased or will purchase the “standard” AW-HE40H/S, AW-UE70, AW-HE130 can visit NewTek's website (new.tk/ndi_panasonic) in Fall 2017 to upgrade and enable NDI capabilities for these camera models. The NDI Panasonic camera line-up in addition to the NDI upgrade path for current cameras and the AV-HLC100 switcher will be available in Fall 2017.
