Following a fresh update to DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.2.1, Blackmagic Design has also released new firmware for its cameras: the Blackmagic Camera 6.9.2 version is exclusively for owners of the URSA Broadcast model and Camera Fiber Converter & Studio Fiber Converter, where it fixes a number of bugs and implements several new features. The transmission of "call" and "on-air" commands is now supported for Blackmagic Camera and Studio Fiber Converter products in conjunction with ATEM Talkback Converter 4K or Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for Arduino. This software update adds new support for H.265 4:4:4 12-bit files when using NVIDIA GPUs, allows for encoding of 32-bit float audio in QuickTime clips, supports trimming QuickTime audio clips when managing media, and adds support for double clicking to open DRP files on Windows and Linux. DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.2.1 update also improves decode support for 10-bit H.265 4:4:4 as well as performance with ProRes, DNxHR, and OpenEXR on high end CPUs. DolbyVision analysis has been improved, systems with Intel graphics are now more reliable, and general improvements have been made for decoding camera clips with AAC audio, HDR tone mapping, transition performance and more.

As part of its virtual NAB exposition (program here), Borix FX introduced the new Silhouette Paint plug-in for Adobe/OFX applications incl. DaVinci Resolve/Fusion! It builds on the industry-leading Silhouette retouching application and is significantly more affordable thanks to its subscription-only distribution. New versions of the plug-ins Sapphire 2020.5, Continuum 2020.5 and Mocha Pro 2020.5 will also be introduced.

Thefirmware of the Panasonic LUMIX S1 and S1R high-performance cameras has been updated to version 1.5, which brings wider compatibility with CFexpress media (full list here), the ability to use 50p/25p frame rates in all regions, and the deactivation of the touch control for the [Delete All] function in playback mode for increased operational safety. are also compatible, also as of firmware version 1.5
