Advanced digital cinema I/O
Dual link 12G-SDI handles SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K DCI up to 60p, with 10-bit YUV in all formats or the full color bandwidth of 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to Ultra HD 30p.
The widest connector set in the range
SDI and HDMI are joined by analog video, balanced analog audio, AES/EBU, reference and RS-422.
Format conversion
Hardware Ultra HD to HD, HD to SD and 720p to 1080 conversion, software SD to HD conversion.

Dual stream capture and playback, including frame packing.
Replaceable mezzanine card
The standard HDMI mezzanine card can be swapped for the Quad SDI card.
Two 12G-SDI inputs and two outputs
The two 12G-SDI inputs and two outputs switch automatically between SD, HD, 2K and 4K and carry 16 channels of embedded audio at 48 kHz / 24-bit. Dual link enables 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to Ultra HD 30p and dual stream stereoscopic 3D; metadata includes RP 188 timecode and closed captioning.
Analog video, audio and control
The supplied breakout cable provides component YUV on three BNCs (switchable to S-Video and composite, component in SD and HD), two channels of balanced XLR analog audio, two channels of unbalanced AES/EBU with a sample rate converter on the input, and Sony compatible RS-422 recorder control. The reference input accepts Tri-Sync and Black Burst.
HDMI mezzanine card included
The supplied mezzanine card has HDMI 2.0b input and output with 2160p60, Deep Color and HDR with static metadata, plus two positions for optional 12 Gb/s optical modules. It can be replaced by the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G – Quad SDI mezzanine card for older equipment that uses quad link 3G-SDI.
For powerful workstations
The card is 170 mm long and weighs 300 g. It uses 8 lane generation 2 PCI Express and also works in x16 slots, power consumption is 30 W and an external power cable is included. It works with macOS 15 Sequoia or later (Mac Pro with PCI Express slots), Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11, and Linux.
Connectors
The main card has the breakout cable connector and two 12G-SDI outputs and inputs; the mezzanine card has HDMI output and input and two positions for optional optical modules.

Details for 4K post production
DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G is a high-end editing card with dual link 12G-SDI and a PCI Express x8 interface for capture and playback up to 2160p60. The dual UHD-SDI design also supports stereoscopic formats.
Two 4K inputs and outputs
The card is designed for digital film cameras and offers two 4K inputs and outputs. 12G-SDI keeps compatibility with SD and HD and extends it to Ultra HD and DCI 4K up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 fps. It handles 10-bit YUV, 8, 10 and 12-bit RGB and stereoscopic 3D formats.
Film, television and post production
The card suits feature film post production, commercials, VFX and television news, wherever high resolution, accurate color, high frame rates or stereoscopy are needed. Full duplex operation allows simultaneous capture and playback.
SD, HD and UHD connectivity
It offers two 12G-SDI inputs and outputs, a reference input, RS-422 for recorder control, HDMI input and output, balanced XLR analog audio, unbalanced AES/EBU and a breakout cable for analog video.
HDR
HDR support over HDMI includes HDR metadata and Rec. 2020 color space for monitoring on compatible HDR displays.
