It works with SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD and suits post production where modern and older equipment meet.

Extensive connectors
The card has a separate 6G-SDI input and output on BNC connectors and an HDMI 1.4b input and output on a separate HDMI bracket. The breakout cable adds component YUV on three BNC connectors, composite, S-Video, analog audio, AES/EBU and RS-422 deck control, so you can connect several external devices at once.
Analog audio and AES/EBU
Four channels of professional balanced analog audio go in and out via 1/4 inch jack connectors. Two unbalanced AES/EBU channels have a sample rate converter on the input; analog outputs 3 and 4 can switch to AES/EBU, giving a total of six AES/EBU output channels. SDI carries 16 channels of embedded audio in HD, 2K and 4K and 8 in SD, HDMI 8 channels.
Formats and conversion
SDI and HDMI switch between SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD up to 2160p30, SDI also 4K DCI up to 25p; component analog between SD and HD. During HD playback the built-in hardware down converter sends HD to the SDI output and SD to the SD-SDI, composite and S-Video outputs as letterbox, anamorphic 16:9 or 4:3 center cut. During capture the software converts SD to HD, during playback 720p to 1080 and back.
Dimensions and installation
The card is 140.9 mm long, weighs 166 g and draws 22 W. The PCI Express x4 generation 2 interface works in x4, x8 and x16 slots of computers with macOS, Windows and Linux.
Works with leading applications
The Desktop Video software includes Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Desktop Video Utility and the driver for macOS and Windows, and Media Express, Desktop Video Utility and the driver for Linux. The card works with DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Composer, Pro Tools, Cubase, Smoke and Photoshop, and plays back effects in real time in Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and Media Composer.
Connectors
The main bracket carries the breakout cable connector and the 6G-SDI output and input on BNC connectors; the HDMI output and input are brought out on the included HDMI bracket.

Details for the hybrid studio
DeckLink Studio 4K is a card for workplaces that combine SDI, HDMI and analog equipment. It offers separate 6G-SDI inputs, HDMI 1.4b up to 4K and analog component, S-Video and composite inputs, so you can connect several external devices at once.
Two AES/EBU channels and four balanced audio inputs and outputs on separate connectors are available. Apart from SDI and HDMI, the connectors are on the breakout cable; a longer two-meter breakout cable can also be used.
The card supports SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD, 6G-SDI, HDMI 1.4b, component, composite and S-Video, four channels of balanced audio, AES/EBU, Black Burst or Tri-Sync sync and RS-422 for controlling Sony decks. It also offers keying in SD and a hardware down converter.
During capture the software converts SD to HD 720/1080, during playback it converts HD 720 to 1080 and back, and the hardware down converter scales HD to SD. It supports internal effects of Final Cut Pro, the Adobe Premiere Pro Mercury Playback Engine, Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
The card is also compatible with applications for editing, grading, VFX and audio and offers full duplex operation for simultaneous capture and playback.
