ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO is a live production switcher with a built-in broadcast control panel – a whole television studio in one portable desk for halls, clubs, schools and compact broadcast vans. It offers eight standards-converted 3G-SDI inputs, two aux outputs and eight program outputs for cameras, hardware streaming, recording of the program and all eight inputs as separate files to USB disks, multiview, a 58-channel audio mixer, four ATEM Advanced Chroma Key, talkback and Blackmagic Cloud support.
Eight cameras, ISO recording and editing in DaVinci Resolve

A whole television studio in one unit
Switcher, control panel, audio mixer, talkback, multiview, streaming encoder and recorder in one chassis with built-in 100–240 V AC mains power and a backup 12 V DC input.
No racks or broadcast van needed
The desk fits into small clubs, halls and compact broadcast vans; for stability it can even be mounted inset into a desk.
Free ATEM Software Control
The Mac and Windows app gives access to every switcher feature; over Ethernet several computers can connect at the same time.
Broadcast panel with T-bar
The front panel uses the same buttons as large broadcast switchers: program and preview rows with LCD labels, a select bus for keyer and DVE sources, ten macro buttons, a T-bar for manual transitions, record and stream buttons and direct switching of two aux outputs. Audio control has its own LCD with level metering and rotary knobs.
Eight cameras without external sync
Each of the eight 3G-SDI inputs has its own standards converter and re-sync, so 720p, 1080i and 1080p sources can be mixed. Connect cameras with SDI outputs such as Blackmagic Studio Camera or Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, as well as recorders and other sources.
Program and preview like a large studio
A source is set up on the preview row and goes to air only with the CUT or AUTO button, so mistakes are caught before viewers see them; for volunteers a simpler A/B mode can be selected. Transitions include mix, dip to color, SMPTE wipes, DVE squeeze and push, graphic wipe and stinger.
DVE and SuperSource
The DVE creates picture in picture with borders, shadows and lighting in real time. SuperSource layers four extra DVEs over a media pool or live background into a separate input – perfect for interviews with several guests within one graphic.
Four ATEM Advanced Chroma Key and media pool
The ATEM Advanced Chroma Key keyers remove green or blue backgrounds; a color picker sets the parameters automatically and foreground correction matches the layers. Two media players with fill and key draw on a pool of 20 stills and clips of up to 400 frames in 720p or 200 in 1080p for animations and stingers.
Audio mixer, MADI and talkback
The 58-channel mixer has separate channels for every SDI input and for the XLR, RCA and MADI inputs; each offers a 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, expander and noise gate and is controlled from the panel or ATEM Software Control. Talkback accepts a 5-pin headset and connects via RJ45 to systems such as ClearCom or RTS; MADI adds microphones with ATEM Microphone Converter.
16 sources on one monitor
The multiview on the SDI and HDMI outputs shows up to 16 windows in 16, 13, 10, 7 or 4 layouts – inputs, program, preview, media players and SuperSource with tally, labels and audio meters. Status views track recording, streaming and the mixer.
Streaming and webcam
The built-in hardware encoder streams via RTMP to YouTube, Facebook or Twitch over Ethernet or through a 4G/5G phone connected to USB. USB-C appears to a computer as a 1080p webcam, so the program goes straight into Zoom, Teams or OBS.
Recording to USB disks
The program is recorded as H.264 MP4 with AAC audio to USB disks on the two USB-C ports or to optional internal M.2 memory; when one disk is full, recording continues on the next. It is started with buttons on the panel, its status shows in the multiview and recordings can sync via Blackmagic Cloud.
ISO recording of all eight inputs
Each SDI input is recorded to a separate H.264 MP4 file at up to 70 Mb/s with matching timecode, and the program to another file. Audio is saved as 24-bit 48 kHz WAV – eight embedded SDI pairs, four analog inputs and up to 32 MADI channels – and media pool items to their own folder.
DaVinci Resolve project
Together with the files a DaVinci Resolve project (.drp) is saved with the whole switching as a timeline. Shots can be replaced, trimmed and color corrected afterwards, the sync bin shows alternative angles as a multiview and the files can be relinked to Blackmagic RAW originals for an Ultra HD master.
Remote cameras over the internet
Up to eight Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 or Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro cameras can stream H.264 directly to the switcher – on the local network or over the internet using an XML settings file. Remote cameras get tally and control and receive program audio back.
Built-in mains power and 12 V backup
The 100–240 V AC mains supply is built into the unit, so there is no external adapter to carry; the 4-pin XLR 12 V DC input serves as backup or for running from batteries. The electronics are modular – a technician can swap the connector board after removing the bottom cover.
Rear connections
The rear carries AC and 12 V DC power, reference, timecode and MADI on BNC, two USB-C ports, RS-422 remote control, RJ45 for external talkback, a 4-port Ethernet switch, eight 3G-SDI inputs, twelve SDI outputs including two aux, program and multiview, HDMI multiview, analog audio outputs, an RCA stereo input, two XLR inputs and 5-pin talkback.
Dimensions and weight
The desk measures 585.2 × 375.2 × 161.2 mm and weighs 6.76 kg; it can stand on a desk or be mounted inset into the desk top.

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO is a compact yet highly advanced live production switcher designed for professional broadcasting, streaming, event production, and multicamera workflows. Combining video switching, ISO recording, live streaming, audio mixing, camera control, and cloud collaboration into a single portable unit, it offers a complete live production solution for studios and mobile productions alike.

Integration with Blackmagic Cloud allows recordings and projects to be instantly shared and accessed remotely from anywhere in the world.
The switcher includes advanced broadcast features such as ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, DVE effects, transitions, media players, picture-in-picture support, and professional graphics handling with alpha channel support. The integrated Fairlight audio mixer provides powerful 58-channel audio processing and routing capabilities for professional live sound production.
A redesigned front panel offers intuitive hardware controls, source selection buttons, transition controls, streaming and recording buttons, live audio monitoring, and a professional T-bar fader for manual transitions. Users can also access expanded controls through the included ATEM Software Control application for macOS and Windows.
Built-in hardware streaming enables direct live streaming to platforms such as YouTube without requiring additional streaming hardware or software. USB webcam output also allows simple integration with conferencing and streaming applications.
