The Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD8 is a powerful professional live production switcher designed for broadcasting, live streaming, studio production, and multicamera event coverage. Combining advanced switching capabilities, audio processing, streaming, graphics handling, and camera control into a compact all-in-one solution, it provides everything needed for modern live productions.

Equipped with eight independent 3G-SDI inputs supporting up to 1080p60 video, the HD8 allows connection of multiple cameras and video sources simultaneously. Each SDI input includes its own standards converter, enabling sources with different HD formats to operate together seamlessly without requiring external conversion equipment.

The ATEM Television Studio HD8 includes advanced broadcast features such as ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, DVE effects, transitions, picture-in-picture support, media players, and graphics storage. The integrated media pool supports broadcast-quality graphics with alpha channels for layered effects and transparent overlays.

A built-in Fairlight 58-channel professional audio mixer delivers extensive audio control and routing capabilities. Embedded SDI audio channels can be manually assigned to program and auxiliary outputs, while MADI audio output support enables direct integration with external professional audio systems.

The redesigned front panel features professional broadcast-style controls, source selection buttons, dedicated recording and streaming controls, an LCD display with live audio metering, and a built-in T-bar for manual transitions. Additional advanced configuration and media management are available using the included ATEM Software Control software for macOS and Windows.

The built-in hardware streaming engine allows direct streaming to online platforms such as YouTube without requiring additional streaming hardware or software. USB webcam output also enables easy integration with conferencing applications and streaming platforms.

The ATEM Television Studio HD8 is compatible with Blackmagic Cloud, allowing media and recordings to be shared remotely for collaborative workflows across production teams.
