When Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, introduced EDIUS version 8 in 2015, the program was bundled with GV Browser, an application that acts as a universal media player and organizer. As of March 1, customers looking for solutions to prepare content for editing will be able to purchase this personal content management tool separately from EDIUS under the brand name Mync. Mync is available in two, scalable package types depending on content developers' needs.
There are two different levels of Mync: Mync Basic and Mync Standard:
EDIUS Mync Basic is a downloadable application designed to provide exceptional format support for media playback and content organization. Mync Basic is available free-of-charge for a limited time only.
EDIUS Mync Standard adds more functionality to the basic version with storyboard video editing and more advanced content management features designed for digital photographers, web content creators and novice video editors. Mync Standard will be available at a special price for a limited time.
In both application options, Mync not only functions as a universal media player, but also automatically organizes content, making it easy to manage and share. For those customers also looking to purchase the EDIUS system, Mync Standard will continue to be bundled with EDIUS Pro and EDIUS Workgroup.
FUJIFILM Corporation has unveiled the MK Series of new cinema lenses, which boast advanced optical performance, ultra-compact (206.3 mm long) and lightweight (980 g) design and excellent cost/performance ratio. The FUJINON MK18-55mm T2.9 (MK18-55mm), a standard zoom lens with the focal length of 18-55mm, is the first MK lens to be released in early March 2017. In the summer, this will be followed by the launch of the FUJINON MK50-135mm T2.9 (MK50-135mm), a telephoto zoom lens offering the focal length of 50-135mm, thus together covering the most frequently-used range of focal lengths from 18mm to 135mm. The use of advanced optical and mechanical design minimizes focal shift and optical axis shift while zooming, and lens breathing that are typically observed in interchangeable lenses for digital cameras. The lenses feature three rings to enable manual and independent adjustment of focus, zoom and iris. Both lenses are designed for E-mount cameras with Super 35mm / APS-C sensors, and will be followed by X Mount versions (for Fujifilm's X Series cameras) at the end of this year. This year, we will also see an XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro lens bearing the FUJINON name, followed by as of yet unspecified ultra wide angle zoom lens and a telephoto prime lens next year.
