New DaVinci Resolve 18.5 beta adds additional improvements to DaVinci public beta including better vertical resolution quality while remote monitoring, improved control over subtitle export, plus a number of scripting API improvements. In addition, this update adds support for Blackmagic RAW 3.2. Fusion 18.5 page/beta adds support for shadows for Universal Scene Descriptor lights, improvements to overlay interactions with older FX plugins and general performance and stability improvements. Panasonic launches new firmware for models LUMIX S5M2 (2.0) a S5M2X (1.1)! The first update brings the [Live View Composite] and [Video Repair] features, as well as new capabilities with the purchase of the optional DMW-SFU2 license key, including support for external recording to Blackmagic RAW (via HDMI) using Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR and Apple ProRes RAW via Atomos Ninja V+ and Ninja V recorders, respectively. For the S5M2X variant (already in stock!) this feature is offered as standard. Both updates also bring higher image quality in V-Log mode, wider compatibility with SD cards and better overall stability. Download here.

A new 14 mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens designed especially for astrophotography will be available from Sigma at the end of the month. The wide-angle, high-luminosity newcomer will offer - in addition to top-quality optics - a removable tripod base, an MFL (Manual Focus Lock) switch, a rear filter holder and a special front cap with a new type of lock and filter storage holder. Of course, aberrations are minimized, sharpness is high right to the edges of the image, and the camera is resistant to moisture and dust. The new FF lens in the Sigma Art series is available in bayonet versions Leica L-Mount a Sony E-Mount.
