Tilta Universal SSD Drive Holder V2 - Black

The Tilta Universal SSD Drive Holder V2 mounts an external SSD to a camera cage. It takes drives 50 to 70 mm wide and up to 15 mm thick, holds them with two 1/4″-20 screws in a sliding slot, and secures the USB-C cable with its own height-adjustable clamp. It weighs 75 grams and is made of aluminum alloy with silicone pads.

Recording to an external SSD is routine on most cameras, but the drive has to sit somewhere — laid on the cage it shifts around and the cable pulls out. This holder bolts it to the cage, clamps it across the width and fixes the connector as well, so the recording does not drop out in the middle of a take.

Fits drives from 50 to 70 mm

The holder opens to suit the drive: it fits SSDs 50 to 70 millimetres wide and up to 15 millimetres thick, which covers the usual Samsung, SanDisk, WD and Angelbird drives. A side scale shows how far the holder is open, so the next build is just a matter of returning to the same number.

Height-adjustable cable clamp

A separate clamp secures the USB-C connector. The thumb screw presses the cable down so it cannot be pulled out while moving the camera, and a second knob slides the clamp up and down — so it suits straight and right-angle connectors without forcing the cable into a loop.

Silicone against scratches

Silicone pads sit on the contact faces. They avoid metal on metal, damp out vibration and, above all, do not scratch surfaces — neither the drive nor the cage underneath.

Two 1/4″-20 screws in a sliding slot

Two 1/4″-20 screws run in a longitudinal slot underneath. Two points stop the holder from twisting, and the slot moves it along the cage so it clears the monitor arm and the battery plate. The holder fits most Tilta cages and third-party cages with 1/4″-20 threads.
