Tilta Baby Pin Mounting Bracket for Electronic Suction Cup (6″)

The Tilta HDA-BPMB-6 bracket with a 5/8″ (16 mm) baby pin bolts onto the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup with four 1/4″-20 screws. It puts a small LED light or any other accessory with a 16 mm receiver on the cup — on a bonnet, a window or a wall, where a stand has nowhere to go. The bracket is aluminium alloy.

The Tilta Baby Pin Mounting Bracket is one of five interchangeable brackets for the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup. Instead of a rosette or a thread it offers a 5/8″ baby pin, the standard that small lights and lighting accessories slide onto. It turns the cup into a compact light mount for shooting from a car and in tight interiors.

Straight onto the 6″ electronic suction cup

The bracket sits on the top face of the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup and is held by four 1/4″-20 screws. The joint is as rigid as a fixed mount, yet it comes apart at any time and swaps for another bracket in the range — dovetail, 19 mm rod, M25 or the Manfrotto ball head. One cup serves several rigs and moves between them in minutes.

5/8″ baby pin for lights

A 5/8″ (16 mm) baby pin stands on top — the standard that small LED lights, fixture receivers and lighting-accessory holders slide onto. The light slides on, the receiver's locking screw is tightened, and it holds; the bracket's aluminium base is low, so the centre of gravity stays close to the cup.

Light where a stand cannot go

The electronic suction cup with a light on it sticks to a bonnet, a side window or a smooth wall — where there is no room for a stand and no level floor. The cup monitors its own vacuum, so the light stays put through a long take from a moving car. It suits fill light inside the vehicle or a lighting accent in a small space.
