Tilta Hydra M25 Mounting Bracket for Electronic Suction Cup (6″)

The Tilta HDA-HMB-6 bracket with a Hydra M25 thread bolts onto the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup with four 1/4″-20 screws. The cup then takes the dovetail plates of the Hydra Alien system just like the system's own cups — only with twice the holding force and a vacuum it monitors itself. The joint under the thread tilts, so the plate sits flat even on curved bodywork.

The Tilta Hydra M25 Mounting Bracket is one of five interchangeable brackets for the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup. It carries a collar with the M25 thread by which the dovetail plates of the Hydra Alien system attach to their suction cups. The 6″ electronic cup thus becomes a full member of a Hydra Alien rig — and can go back onto another bracket at any time.

Straight onto the 6″ electronic suction cup

The bracket sits on the top face of the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup and is held by four 1/4″-20 screws. The joint is as rigid as a fixed mount, yet it comes apart at any time and swaps for another bracket in the range — baby pin, dovetail, 19 mm rod or the Manfrotto ball head. One cup serves several rigs and moves between them in minutes.

M25 thread on a tilting joint

On top is a collar with the Hydra M25 thread — the interface by which the dovetail plates of the Hydra Alien system sit on their cups. The collar stands on a joint that tilts and locks with a screw, so the plate stays level even on a domed bonnet or a sloping pillar. The bracket is aluminium alloy.

A stronger cup for the Hydra Alien

With this bracket you replace the original cup in a Hydra Alien rig with the 6″ electronic suction cup: it has up to twice the holding force of the 4.5″ version, checks the vacuum a thousand times a second and tops it up by itself when it drops. The damped arm with the camera then stands on a base you do not have to keep an eye on while driving.
