The Tilta HDA-19MB-6 bracket with a 19 mm rod clamp bolts onto the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup with four 1/4″-20 screws. The cup then supports the 19 mm rods that brace rigs on the bodywork — the Hydra Alien Pro damped arm, for instance. The clamp stands on a tilting joint, so the rod need not leave the cup at a right angle and finds its way across a curved bonnet.
The Tilta 19mm Rod Mounting Bracket is one of five interchangeable brackets for the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup. It carries a clamp for a 19 mm rod with a quick-release lever, sitting on a tilting joint. It turns the 6″ electronic cup into an anchor for the rods that hold a car rig together.
The bracket sits on the top face of the Hydra 6″ electronic suction cup and is held by four 1/4″-20 screws. The joint is as rigid as a fixed mount, yet it comes apart at any time and swaps for another bracket in the range — baby pin, dovetail, M25 or the Manfrotto ball head. One cup serves several rigs and moves between them in minutes.
The clamp grips a 19 mm rod and closes with a quick-release lever — drop the rod in, flip the lever, done. Under the clamp is a joint with a locking screw that tilts, so the rod can leave the cup at an angle, whichever way it runs to the arm or to the next cup. The bracket is aluminium alloy.
A Hydra Alien Pro rig rests on the bodywork on dovetail plates and on 19 mm rods held by 4.5″ cups. With this bracket you add the 6″ electronic suction cup as one more anchor for a rod: it has up to twice the holding force, monitors its own vacuum and tops it up when it drops. The rig gets stiffer and safer without changing the arm or the plates.
Hydra is Tilta's modular system for shooting from moving vehicles: an electronic suction cup that monitors its own vacuum, the damped Hydra Alien and Hydra Alien Mini arms, speed rail kits for the bodywork and brackets for monitors, cameras and accessories. The parts combine through shared standards (4.5″ suction cup, M25, NATO, 1/4″-20, speed rail) — this one is among them.
