Tilta Camera Cage for Nikon ZR Pro Kit - Black

The Tilta Camera Cage for Nikon ZR Pro Kit is a complete set for handheld and tripod work: the full cage (Full Camera Cage) with cable clamp, a Xeno top handle with a cold shoe for a monitor, a height-adjustable Xeno side handle, a height-adjustable Arca baseplate with a 15 mm LWS rod holder and two 15 × 200 mm aluminium rods. All aluminium alloy and stainless steel, 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins.

The Pro Kit builds on the Tilta Full Camera Cage for the Nikon ZR and adds everything needed for comfortable handling and for standard accessories on 15 mm rods: a Xeno top handle, a Xeno side handle, a height-adjustable Arca baseplate with an LWS rod holder and two 15 × 200 mm rods. The kit comes in one box and the parts go together without extra tools — the screwdriver is part of the cage.

What is in the Pro Kit

The foundation is the full cage for the Nikon ZR with a wooden grip on the left side, an Arca-Swiss bottom plate and a USB-C and micro HDMI cable clamp. The Xeno top handle screws to the top plate of the cage, the Xeno side handle to the left side and the Arca baseplate with a 15 mm rod holder goes underneath. Two 200 mm aluminium rods carry a follow focus, matte box or lens support.

Kit parts

Full Camera Cage (TA-T98-FCC-B) with cable clamp, Xeno top handle 1/4"-20 with locating pins (TA-XTH1-B), Xeno side handle 1/4"-20 with locating pins (TA-XSH1-B), Arca height-adjustable baseplate 15 mm LWS (TA-HABP-B) and two 15 × 200 mm aluminium rods (R15-200-B). Every part is also sold separately, so the kit can be extended later or a part replaced.

Cage interfaces

Around its perimeter the cage offers four 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins, a row of 3/8"-16 threads, a cold shoe on the top plate, a wrist strap eyelet and a 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 adapter. The cable clamp sits on the left side, a silicone pad in the bottom plate protects the bottom of the camera, and a multi-functional screwdriver for fitting and removing parts is stowed in the cage.

Modular design

Switching between configurations is a matter of a few screws: the top section comes off or goes on without extra tools, the screwdriver is part of the cage. The camera stays in the L-bracket.

Free access to the camera controls

The cage is shaped around the Nikon ZR body so that it does not obstruct the control buttons or the built-in microphone on top, leaves the tally light clear and does not get in the way of a lens adapter. The camera sits in the cage on three points: the 1/4"-20 screw underneath, a locating pin next to it against rotation, and a security attachment in the strap slot at the top left.

Arca-Swiss built into the cage and cable clamp

The bottom plate of the cage has an Arca-Swiss profile, so the camera drops straight into a tripod quick-release head, DJI gimbals and other ARCA receivers without an extra plate. The cable clamp on the left side holds the USB-C and micro HDMI cable with two thumb screws so they do not pull out while shooting and interrupt data transfer or power.

Xeno side handle

The side handle screws to the left side of the cage with a 1/4"-20 connection with locating pins and has 40 mm of height adjustment. The surface is non-slip silicone. On top it carries a cold shoe and a 1/4"-20 thread with locating pins for a microphone or small monitor.

Top handle and adjustable baseplate

The Xeno top handle connects to the top plate of the cage through a 1/4"-20 thread with locating pins; its curved shape leaves clearance above the camera and the handle carries its own 1/4"-20 threads and a cold shoe for a monitor. The Arca baseplate with a 15 mm rod holder is height-adjustable, so it maintains the LWS standard — 85 mm from the rod axis to the sensor centre — and rod-mounted accessories sit at the right height for the lens.

Note on the articulating screen

With the cage fitted, the Nikon ZR touchscreen cannot articulate through its full range — the cage leaves clearance for lens adapters and therefore reaches into the path of the panel. The screen can be flipped out and turned, but not into every position available without the cage.

The Tilta cage family for the Nikon ZR

The cage is the foundation of four kits: the Full Camera Cage on its own, the Base Kit with a Xeno top handle, the Pro Kit with top and side handles, a height-adjustable ARCA baseplate and 15 mm rods, and the Power Kit with a Mini PD V-Mount battery plate on an adjustable ARCA receiver. All kits are built on the same cage, so the missing parts can be added at any time. A lens adapter support for the Kippertie Z→PL adapter is also available.
