Tilta Camera Cage for Nikon ZR Power Kit - Black

The Tilta Camera Cage for Nikon ZR Power Kit combines the full cage (Full Camera Cage) with cable clamp with V-Mount battery power: the Mini PD V-Mount battery plate sits on an adjustable ARCA receiver that extends and swivels up to 180°, so the battery hangs behind the camera without a baseplate or 15 mm rods. The plate powers the camera through USB-C PD 60 W and accessories through P-Tap and 2-pin Lemo (20 V / 3 A).

The Power Kit builds on the Tilta Full Camera Cage for the Nikon ZR and solves the first thing a small camera with a small battery runs into: long shoots and powering accessories. The Mini PD V-Mount battery plate sits on an adjustable ARCA receiver directly under the cage — no baseplate, no 15 mm rods — and from the V-Mount battery powers the camera over USB-C and a monitor, light or transmitter over P-Tap and Lemo.

What is in the Power Kit

The foundation is the full cage for the Nikon ZR with a wooden grip on the left side, an Arca-Swiss bottom plate and a USB-C and micro HDMI cable clamp. The adjustable ARCA receiver slides into the ARCA profile of the bottom plate and carries the Mini PD V-Mount battery plate. The battery sits right behind the camera and the whole rig stays compact even with a large battery.

Kit parts

Full Camera Cage (TA-T98-FCC-B) with cable clamp, adjustable ARCA receiver for the Mini PD V-Mount battery plate (TA-BTP4-AR-B) and Mini PD V-Mount battery plate (TA-BTP4-V-B) with a security strap for the battery. Every part is also sold separately, so the kit can be extended later with a top handle or a part replaced.

Cage interfaces

Around its perimeter the cage offers four 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins, a row of 3/8"-16 threads, a cold shoe on the top plate, a wrist strap eyelet and a 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 adapter. The cable clamp sits on the left side, a silicone pad in the bottom plate protects the bottom of the camera, and a multi-functional screwdriver for fitting and removing parts is stowed in the cage.

Modular design

Switching between configurations is a matter of a few screws: the top section comes off or goes on without extra tools, the screwdriver is part of the cage. The camera stays in the L-bracket.

Free access to the camera controls

The cage is shaped around the Nikon ZR body so that it does not obstruct the control buttons or the built-in microphone on top, leaves the tally light clear and does not get in the way of a lens adapter. The camera sits in the cage on three points: the 1/4"-20 screw underneath, a locating pin next to it against rotation, and a security attachment in the strap slot at the top left.

Arca-Swiss built into the cage and cable clamp

The bottom plate of the cage has an Arca-Swiss profile, so the camera drops straight into a tripod quick-release head, DJI gimbals and other ARCA receivers without an extra plate. The cable clamp on the left side holds the USB-C and micro HDMI cable with two thumb screws so they do not pull out while shooting and interrupt data transfer or power.

Adjustable ARCA receiver

The receiver slides into the Arca-Swiss profile of the cage bottom plate and carries the battery plate without a traditional baseplate and 15 mm rods. The extension moves the battery closer to or further from the camera, and the hinge swivels it up to 180°, so the rig balances in the hand and on a gimbal.

Mini PD V-Mount battery plate

The plate takes V-Mount batteries and provides three outputs: USB-C PD 60 W for the camera, P-Tap and 2-pin Lemo (20 V / 3 A) for a monitor, light, transmitter or focus motor. Integrated strap slots hold the battery with the included security strap so it cannot come loose while shooting. On top the plate has 1/4"-20 and M4 threads, so it can also be carried on an articulating arm or another adapter.

Note on the articulating screen

With the cage fitted, the Nikon ZR touchscreen cannot articulate through its full range — the cage leaves clearance for lens adapters and therefore reaches into the path of the panel. The screen can be flipped out and turned, but not into every position available without the cage.

The Tilta cage family for the Nikon ZR

The cage is the foundation of four kits: the Full Camera Cage on its own, the Base Kit with a Xeno top handle, the Pro Kit with top and side handles, a height-adjustable ARCA baseplate and 15 mm rods, and the Power Kit with a Mini PD V-Mount battery plate on an adjustable ARCA receiver. All kits are built on the same cage, so the missing parts can be added at any time. A lens adapter support for the Kippertie Z→PL adapter is also available.
