Tilta Adjustable Top Handle for Sony FX6

The Tilta Adjustable Top Handle ES-T20-TH2 rotates 180°, so it still holds the camera when you stand the Sony FX6 upright for vertical video. In both positions it slides forwards and back so the rig hangs at its centre of gravity, it has a built-in mount for Sony's original LCD monitor bracket and a 15 mm rod mount for a viewfinder. The body is aluminium alloy with stainless steel parts.

The Tilta Adjustable Top Handle for Sony FX6 is a top handle for shooting horizontally and vertically. It is part of the Vertical Mounting Kit cage and is bought separately for the Basic or Advanced Kit — or straight for the FX6 body, because it mounts in place of the original handle.

Rotates 180° for vertical shooting

The handle's joint turns through 180°, so when you turn the camera on its side for vertical video the grip still points up and the camera is carried as usual. Switching between horizontal and vertical takes seconds and needs no disassembly — with the vertical mounting plate ES-T20-VMP or the heavy-duty bracket ES-T20-VMB you get a rig that stands upright as a whole, monitor and transmitter included.

Balance in both positions

Loosen the 1/4"-20 screw and the handle slides forwards and back, in the horizontal as well as the vertical position — so you find the centre of gravity even with a heavy lens or a battery plate at the back. The handle carries a monitor mount for Sony's original LCD bracket and a 15 mm rod mount for an EVF; the remaining threads serve a microphone or wireless video transmitter. It mounts in place of the original handle, directly on the FX6 body.

The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6

The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6 (ES-T20) wraps the camera with all ports protected and adds 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and 15 mm rod holders. The ES-T20 accessories build on it — top plate, handles, battery plates, side plate or rod holders mount to the cage and to the camera body and combine freely; this one is among them.
