Tilta 1/4"-20 Mounting Screw to NATO Rail Adapter V2 - Black

The Tilta TA-1420-NAV2-B is a short adapter that turns a 1/4"-20 thread into a NATO rail: the hex socket 1/4"-20 screw turns into the thread on a cage, plate or handle and leaves a piece of NATO profile on its head for a NATO clamp to drop onto. An accessory with a NATO clamp — monitor mount, handle, adapter — can thus be clamped even where there is only a thread. Second version of the adapter, black.

The Tilta TA-1420-NAV2-B is the smallest way to add a NATO interface to a cage or plate: one screw and no extra rail.

NATO rail on a single 1/4"-20 screw

The adapter is a NATO profile with a through 1/4"-20 hex socket screw. A hex key turns it into the 1/4"-20 thread on a cage, top plate, handle or tripod head and the rail sits firmly in place. Anything with a NATO clamp drops onto it: a monitor mount, a side handle, an adapter to cold shoe or ARCA. When the NATO accessory is no longer needed, the adapter unscrews and the thread is free again.

The Tilta NATO system

A NATO rail is a dovetail profile the clamp drops onto from above and locks with a lever — no screwing, repeatable, with a safety catch against sliding off. Tilta puts it on cages, handles and arms and backs it with adapters: clamps with a joint for a monitor, adapters from NATO to cold shoe, ARCA or 1/4"-20 thread, rod holders and rails that add the NATO interface where it is missing.
