TAMRON is celebrating its 75th anniversary and has marked the occasion by unveiling a brand new 25–200mm F/2.8–5.6 Di III VXD G2 lens (model A075). The new lens is designed for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras with an E-mountand follows on from the extremely successful 28–200mm (A071) model . Unlike its predecessor , it offers a wider angle of view starting at 25 mm, improved optics, and more accurate autofocus with a VXD linear motor , which will be appreciated by sports and action photographers.

Main advantages of the new model

  • Advanced G2 design – higher optical performance across the entire zoom range

  • Compact and lightweight design – ideal for travel and everyday photography

  • Superb image quality – high resolution across the zoom range

  • Fast and quiet AF with VXD motor – precise focusing even with fast-moving subjects

  • Semi-macro capabilities – magnification up to 1:1.9 at a focal length of 25 mm

  • Compatibility with TAMRON Lens Utility – ability to customize lens behavior

Availability and price

The launch is planned for fall 2025. The exact date and official price have not yet been announced, but it is expected to be launched in mid-November with a price of around CZK 25,000–30,000.

The existing 28–200 mm (A071) model will remain on offer as a more affordable option, so the new 25–200 mm G2 is not a replacement but an extension of Tamron's all-in-one zoom range.
