Ulanzi LC01: a small clamp for a better-organised studio

One jaw takes a round tube up to 48 mm in diameter, the other a square profile up to 25 × 25 mm. This makes it possible to join different elements of a studio setup, provided their geometry matches the clamp. Measure both parts before ordering. The LC01 is not a universal replacement for any arm or holder, and the clamp alone does not create a mounting interface that the attached accessory lacks.

Two separate knobs let you tighten each side independently. This is handy when joining dissimilar profiles: you first stabilise one side and then adjust the other. The silicone contact surfaces help protect the finish and improve grip. Even with them, however, it makes no sense to join parts across an edge or in a place where the jaw does not sit on its full intended surface.

Ulanzi states a load capacity of 5 kg. For practical mounting, though, the distance of the load from the joint, the rigidity of both profiles and the stability of the whole stand also matter. A heavier object on a long lever loads the setup differently from the same weight close to the clamp. The point of the LC01 is a well-designed solid connection; do not treat the load rating as automatic approval of any accessory position.

Weighing approximately 230 g and measuring 125 × 100 × 42 mm, it is an accessory you can add to a grip bag. It will find use where you already have a suitable stand and a matching second profile. The package contains the clamp alone. Lights, stands or other connecting parts shown in the illustrative photos must be assessed and, if necessary, bought separately.
