The high frame rates, sensitivity and resolution of the V-RAPTOR series sensor combined with the global shutter of the KOMODO models have created a new standard in the field of professional cameras for film and series shooting. Featuring the latest 8K VV sensor, the V-RAPTOR [X] offers the benefits of high-resolution recording with a global shutter, in a compact body weighing just over 1.8 kg.

The new standard
The V-RAPTOR [X] is the first large format digital film camera with global shutter on the market. It is built on the same key technologies that were pioneered by the original V-RAPTOR, including 2x 12G-SDI outputs for advanced monitoring, a Nikon Z locking bayonet for maximum rigidity while offering flexibility in lens selection and high operational security, and CFexpress B media for recording formats with bitrates up to 800 MB/s, ideal for high resolution and frame rate formats such as 8Kp120. The body also features improved audio preamps and a better optimized sensor cavity for parasitic light suppression and improved contrast.

Global Vision
V-RAPTOR[X] 8K VV pushes itself to new limits with Global Vision, a new suite of image processing technologies that leverages the global shutter sensor in the V-RAPTOR[X] system to provide even greater flexibility and ease of use throughout the production process. The Global Vision Extended Highlights feature improves dynamics in the bright part of the luminance spectrum - by up to 3 EV - for smoother transitions between mid-tones and highlights, making post/production easier even in less-than-favorable lighting conditions. Phantom Track technology will greatly facilitate virtual production with Ghost Frame and Frame Remapping features that capture different R3D files for each sub-frame, while allowing any of those frames to be tracked live on set on separate SDI outputs.

IP connectivity
In addition, V-RAPTOR[X] and the DSMC 3 platform feature advanced connectivity solutions that enable remote control and monitoring, Frame.io in-camera integration, AWS direct upload, RED Connector for live 8K R3D video over IP or live 4K video using SMPTE ST2110, and more...
